La Maltese Estate

One of the best properties we have stayed not just in this trip but ever, and we have been travelling for many years. Brilliant location, amazing sunset, great facilities and amenities. Staff starting with the manager Costa and everyone that works there were simply brilliant! Lots of food options and things to see nearby. Pool and Buddha bar were terrific and so was the American/continental breakfast. We are so glad we decided to stay here rather that the busy terrible mess that is Oia. Highly recommend staying here, can’t wait to come back!

Zimmer war sehr schön nur gab es keinen Kleiderschrank um schönere Anziehsachen aufzuhängen- nur Bügel an der Wand.schönes Schwimmbad. Hotelpersonal sehr freundlich, Kostas -Concierge sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zimmer sehr sauber, morgens nach dem Frühstück schon sauber gemacht. Wunderbares Frühstück mit atemberaubenden Blick!!!

Location

They need to be more specific on the type of room people is getting specially when they post pictures showing a nice view and you get to your room to a remote location and no view whatsoever ever.

Location is just perfect and the service was topnotch. The staff made us feel so special and well taken care of. The views from the restaurant is to die for, no wonder why a lot of tourists in the island actually go out of their way to visit the area and the bar for the sunset. Staying here gave us the full Santorini fantasy. Highly recommended.

The room carried a heavy smell of smoke and was tucked back in a dark corner of the property. The check in desk is tucked away from the actually estate property itself. Only highlight is the Buddha Bar. We left after our first night and found other accommodations.

A bag was stolen from our room, when we went out for the whole day. So had a bad experience. Even reporting it did not make any difference to the management. Extreme apathy from them.

Very beautiful hotel

Our room was dark/dingy not what I was promised via email (2 times). We were shown another room but it was not large enough for 4. I specifically asked about views of the room via emails w the property and was assured we’d get the room w windows and views of the sea from a balcony. We didn’t get a room w a balcony. Our jetted tub was filled w debris and insects and we couldn’t even turn it on. On Wed we woke up to a flooded room after a storm and our luggage and contents got wet. We also lost power for the remainder of our stay. There was no electricity, air conditioning, or hot water. Someone came to fix the electricity twice but we continued to have none. We relayed all of this to the manager who was understanding and who told us there were no other rooms available for us to move to. We had to look for a new hotel. There were no amenities you’d expect in a 5 star hotel: no tissues, no telephone to call the front desk, and only one trash bin in the toilet room. We learned about the shared lobby only after letting the property manager know we were checking out early. When we saw the lobby, I noticed a much nicer suite that looked more like the room I booked online. At one point the restaurant manager I spoke w on Tues on arrival said that the photos I was sent via email reflect “a combination of many different rooms” which makes no sense for a link that specified and listed amenities along with images: https://www.lamaltese.com/la-maltese-estate/ (Suite w jetted tub).

The staff was amazing. They were attentive to my needs and gave me a 5 star experience. First time to Europe and they made it the best yet.
