"The only hotel in Valley Springs"

8.0

As the only hotel in Valley Springs, we had no choice but to give it a shot. We were traveling with our dogs and they were extremely accommodating. The pet fee was reasonable. The rooms are a bit dated and have probably the tallest beds that I have ever slept on, I felt like Princess and the Pea, and they were rock hard. But if you need a reasonably priced place to stay that is quiet and friendly with a pretty view of the golf course, then this is your place. If you get a room on the top floor, be prepared for quite the climb when loaded down with luggage! =) Overall, I would stay there again if I were to be in Valley Springs again.

"A bit of the past"

8.0

Old school, quaint and has a homey8 charm. Loved the flowered sheets! Very accomodating. Lori took great care of us for days during our Red Cross deployment for the devastating Butte Fires. Close to all services you might need.

"The worst place ever"

2.0

When we had first arrived into the room, we had noticed an odor immediately as we stepped in, similar to a smoke like stench. The beds were both very creaky when slightly moved on, and made sleeping very difficult. The blankets provided were very old and also had an odor, and had burn marks in multiple areas, which made for an unpleasant experience. The towels were also old. The room itself was very dirty and run-down, there were spiders behind the television. We had to abandon our trip early due to our very unpleasant experience inside the inn.

"Pet friendly place"

6.0

We traveled with two tiny dogs, we paid $ 40.- for four nights, very reasonable. We had remodeled room 19 on the third floor to the back of the inn. Was very nice with 2 queens, coffee machine, micro, fridge and no small table where you could eat something. Room had flat TV, free Wifi and no phone. Bathroom had plenty of towels which we didn't need every day but were brought anyhow. Had a big problem with the 2 queen beds because the mattresses were moving constantly, they didn't stay together and one night my husband (81 years) fell out of bed and the mattress on top of him. This could be fixed easy and I emailed the owner. Caretaker and maid were very nice and super friendly. It's not an B&B like it says. You have to go down to the office and pick a cereal or some packaged danish. If you are looking for a quiet place, it is not the right one. The front of the inn is very, very noisy because HWY 26 and 15 is right on the door step. The back of the house is much better but still loud because of the ongoing traffic day and night. The place is very reasonable and we will stay there again should we come to this area.

"Fantastic stay"

10.0

Attended Blackhawk Paramotors training and stayed here for over a week. Great prices and also the rooms were what I needed. They are set up similar to a guest room at someone's house rather than a hotel which is perfectly alright for what I needed. Will be staying here again when I return.

"Great place to stay"

10.0

I don't know how anyone could complain about this place. We stayed for 10 days and the owners and caretakers went out of their way to make sure we were happy, and we were! The room was great. It was clean, we had a bath, cable, warmth, the internet wasn't great but it was there. Most of all they made sure to make room for us even though they were so busy. I was training for Paramotoring at the Blackhawk Ranch nearby and they even gave me a discount! I would highly recommend this lace to anyone, and would say to those with not great reviews that maybe you are living in lala land as to your expectations. Thanks to the 10th Green Inn for making our stay a great one. Tyrhone and Sarah from Australia and South Africa

"Not a B&B"

6.0

First, this is listed as a B&B on some websites. It's not. There is cereal for breakfast in the office. Second, the wifi barely worked the entire time I was there. I could pick it up but the strength and quality were really bad. It was pretty much useless. The bed was pretty comfortable and the desk was nice to have. I also like the couch. The shower head is too short for tall people, though. Also, the TV is like something out of the '90s. It's small and is hard to see from the couch. The outside seating could have been cleaner, but, the place is clean enough in most areas.

"Reasonably priced, very nice staff"

8.0

First off, I think that things must have changed a bit since some of the older reviews were written. I hope people take the time to check how old reviews are! I'll start off with the "negatives". Yes, it's close to the highway. It can be noisy at times, but I stayed on the back side of the hotel, and wasn't bothered. There is no elevator that I know of (if there is, it must be very well hidden since the place is small!) so you have to take exterior stairs up to the second and third floors. Not a big deal unless you have a handicap, I'm sure. "Breakfast" was nothing to write home about, all that was left when I got there was some breakfast bars. Oh well, not a restaurant, it's an inn. Since it asks me to rate it for kids activities, I didn't see any on-site, so how else can I rate it but poor? They just don't exist...this isn't a McDonalds, it's a very small hotel. Positives? Staff was extremely friendly. Locked self out of room at 9PM, was promptly let in my room. I was allowed an early check in. Decor isn't the most up to date, and certainly isn't something ordered from buyhoteldecorhere.com...they've made what is there last, and work. But there is some charm in knowing that the people running the place care about my experience. The room was very clean, and unlike most chain hotels I've stayed at, I felt secure that the cleanliness wasn't just a facade, cleaning was actually thorough....clean sheets, clean floor, clean bathroom. I also thought the exterior was very quaint. It seems the people who run it also live there, so I would expect that after hours, you might have to work a bit harder to get someone to help you. But I think I'd be the same way if I "worked" 24/7. As I understood it from one of the other guests conversation with a staff member, stays also include a round of golf at the local course? I'm not a golfer, but that's what I understood. I would assume that would make the price even more appealing for a golfer.

"Not the Ritz but better than other places I've stayed - I'd recommend it"

8.0

We stayed several nights, we were in the rear of the building away from road noise - not that there was that much noise in Valley Springs. The location was very convenient for us. While other reviews of this place are true about being dated - I didn't feel it was run down at all. It sort of added to the charm in my opinion. It's not a hotel chain, there's not big corporate money involved - it's a quaint, charming building and a decent place to spend some time. I didn't find the room dirty or not dusted. The fireplace was a nice bonus. Whoever cleaned our room took the time to pose a couple of my sons stuffed toys on the bed we had for him. Made me feel very much like we stayed in someone's home and not in a hotel. If you need some place "fancy" this may not be it. If you want to feel like you stayed in a distant family members guest room - this was how I felt and maybe you will too.
