Bay Guest Lodge

I had previously stayed at the Bay Guest Lodge and I stayed in room 4 which was spacious and had a fabulous view. I arrived on Friday evening having booked with booking.com and paid in advance. The front door was locked and no one was answering the buzzer. Another Guest arrived and entered the code to open the door so I asked if he would let me into the reception area. I met one of the staff at the Bay Guest and said that I was checking in , he told me that I wasn't on the list. I showed him my booking reference , he told me to ring a number on their business card which I did but got no answer. After another few moments he video called another person who asked me if I had actually booked , I called out my booking reference again. She then discovered that they had missed my booking. She told the staff member beside me to 'put him in room 7'. When I was brought to the room I discovered that it was a tiny little room at the rear of the Guest house , a far cry from the room I had stayed in previously. Lucky to get a room at all I just said nothing. The room was clean to be fair and had everything but the whole experience was a disaster.

The chair in the room wasnt very comfortable .

3 flights of stairs and ive knee and ankle problems so this was diffcult ,, no windows only a skylight, inside of kettle brown scum in it,, couldnt use it..

The staff were fantastic, they got in contact the day before and asked when we would like to check in. As we were attending a wedding we wouldn't have been available during normal check in hours but the staff accommodated an early check in. The communication was great and made the whole experience easy from start to finish.
