EC Reed's Mercantile and Hotel

The owners were delightful people. They had renovated and decorated the small hotel, store, and restaurant themselves. The food was delicious in the restaurant. The service was excellent. If only all hotels were this comfortable and welcoming! Highly recommend and will stay there again if we’re in the area.

Rooms were nice and moderately comfortable. Has free wifi, and a roku TV. There were little snacks such as cookies, packaged muffins, bananas, oranges and coffee for free. Was in a nice location, and quiet area. The place did give a homey vibe, and was very cute. The bedding was very nice and beds were firm. All the chairs they had in the rooms were very cute and unique fitting the style of each room!

For the price paid you would normally expect complimentary breakfast, but you had to go up front and pay for the food. It was cute, but I have a large family so it gets pretty expensive. If you wanted chips or soda you had to pay $1 for them. You didn't really see the staff out and about much, but when we did they seemed very disinterested not very friendly from our experience. They hollered at my sisters son whom is 4, and didn't even try to confront an adult about the issue, which was him pulling on the banister/railing in the downstairs area.

Very cute family owned hotel that's connected to a restaurant/shop. The only downside was that the description said "free continenital breakfast" but the free breakfast was just fruit, muffins, and coffee so we went to the restaurant and paid for a breakfast...i was also supposed to get 20% off for being a VIP member but i was unable to get service to bring it up on my phone so i didn't worry about it. I dont recommend staying if you have a lot of luggage because youll have to walk it up stairs unless you're on the lower floor. Overall its one of the nicer places to stay in the area so i would stay again.

The EC Reed Hotel and Mercantile was an excellent place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding!!! The only thing I would recommend is blinds on the windows in addition to curtains and upgrade the doors to block the light.

Convenient and very friendly

Super small town but if that’s your vibe this is definitely the place to be. Small motel with attached luncheonette, two antique stores, and a delicious BBQ restaurant a short drive away.
