Location, beautiful building, spacious rooms, pool area

Paying extra to park our car, breakfast was a costly extra too

The accommodation was stunning, enormous, and palatial. The location is excellent, many restaurants, shops, park within walking distance. Our host, Tibeau, sp? went above and beyond. When my backpack was inadvertently left at the hotel, he met us at the train station with it within minutes. He was so gracious and kind. Breakfast was more than adequate and dining room was gorgeous as well.

It’s historical and the room was immaculate.

Front gate to enter was locked when we and other guests arrived. No clear instructions on how to access the correct button on the key pad to get a human — a local finally helped us. Lack of staff or any helpful explanation.Lack of any customer front desk. No real time ability to make requests, eg walk in to the grounds or to request breakfast after 7 pm. No staff on site in case of emergency. No staff to acknowledge checkout. Essentially a fortress with pretty rooms and a garden and pool we couldn’t access.

La bonde dans la baignoire était défectueuse. Le personnel était absent … Pas de lounge ou salon, pas de restaurant pour le dîner Pour le petit déjeuner il fallait chercher les œufs dans la cuisine et le remplissage du buffet n’était pas fait .

The room was enormous and spacious. Almost an apartment in itself. Outside was a square with a couple of restaurants and a couple of blocks away there were many lovely restaurants, boulangeries and boutiques.

A note about how to find the place. I almost gave up after three attempts.
