The property itself was beautiful, isolated from the hustling vessel of Porto, and very inviting. They provided four water taxis per day, which was convenient. They were one way into the city. The room was beautiful, but there was no storage in the bathroom, so you had to put your things away each day or look at them, which looks cluttered. We didn’t have a chance to use the pool, but the area is beautiful, many lounges to lie in the sun The breakfast was amazing each morning. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Ate in the restaurant twice and my food was cold on both occasions. The hot food at the breakfast buffet was cold as well as the hot plates weren't lit, so nothing stayed hot. Some of the cleaning not perfect. Some windows in communal areas were dirty and our bathroom had a couple of minor dirty marks that looked like they'd been there a while. So frustrating as it's a lovely hotel.

The staff were very helpful and did everything possible to make our stay exceptional. We very much appreciated the complimentary water taxi transfer to Porto.

The property itself is nice. It was very quiet, which I enjoyed. The service from Paola was great.

For a 5-star hotel- I felt like the service was lackluster. We informed them it was our honeymoon, and nothing was done to make it special. Other properties we stayed at during our trip did something small but special- a note, a glass of wine, even an upgrade. The breakfast was also mediocre. My wife wanted hot scrambled eggs and was told they don’t do that because it’s on the buffet- the buffet eggs were cold and runny.

Location on the river, property itself, hotel design and personnel, all outstanding.
