Cabin On The Lake

The location was good. Not too far away from the Daytona Speedway which we visited 4 days straight for a concert

The listing for the Cabin was very misleading. To me, it seemed as if the rental would be a whole Cabin, not just a room. I specifically booked "the cabin" so we didn't have to share 1 room. What we rented was just a room in a B&B. The owners live downstairs and there are a few other rooms to rent in the house. The room we rented was the "antique room" on the second floor and had a double bed with a twin bed with a trundle. It was my husband, daughter, and I. It wasn't bad for us 3 for space-wise. When we arrived the room was extremely hot. The owner turned on the air when he walked us up. We keep the room door open with a stand-up fan blowing the cool air from the foyer to the room. We booked Wednesday-Monday but left on Sunday. It was hot in the room the whole time and we had no control of the thermostat. None of us slept with any covers or even a sheet! The room was dusty, and the toilet and shower were dirty. We got in so late each night and left right after we got up so it's on me for not asking them to clean it up. There's a cat on the property that scratched the crap of my truck. I know it was the cat since my husband watched the cat jump off when he went outside. We didn't notice the scratches on the hood or side panel until we left already. The front door has a keypad but it was dead so I had to call over and over and press the ring to get in at 1 am. The owner came and unlocked the door after a few minutes. Another guest locked the door but the keypad should be charged since we were told that's how we could get in. We did let them know we were there for the 4-day rock concert and would be in late each night. It's my fault for not reading the reviews before booking. It was too late to cancel when I found out it was just a room. The other rooms may be great and it's in a cool little area if you want to visit the springs or hike around the many parks and trails they have. Also...

The view and surrounding nature.

A/C was freezing at night 🥶 We weren't so lucky, I had to kill a few huge palmetto roaches in the room. They should install a separate A/C in the room so people can control the temperature. Also, I'd recommend closing the gap in the room at the bottom. All insects will come on easily through there. Bed is super uncomfortable. And for the price, breakfast should be a bigger portion for eggs and include sausage. You should allow people to serve themselves the how breakfast (eggs, waffles) instead of having one person decide how much you can eat.

Absolutely loved our stay at this cozy cabin by the lake! The peaceful surroundings, beautiful views, and warm hospitality made it the perfect getaway. The host was incredibly welcoming, and the breakfast each morning was a lovely touch. A hidden gem in Florida — we’ll definitely be back!

Beds were extremely comfortable, room was very clean, staff was very friendly.

The bed was spacious, the owner is nice. Food is good. Very down to earth people, super helpful and a source of knowledge about fun things to do and try.

During our stay other individuals were loud and tried to break rules that are posted here and in each room. They were inconsiderate and loud until 2am and then got up around 8am. You can hear everything through the walls and ceilings but other than that it was a great trip.

Limited dining strict rules no privacy

Hugo was a wonderful host. He suggested various places to visit. He made great pancakes. It was fun watching him feed the ducks. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The house was quiet and peaceful. It's worth a return trip.

Clean, comfortable, friendly owner, beautiful area, close to Daytona, good breakfast. We would definitely stay again.
