Patz Houz Hostel

Great place, good vibe, nice staff and very clean!

The house is very nice and the volunteers really try to keep it clean and comfortable

The owner leaving 5 large dogs there barking all day and night shows a staggering lack of respect for paying guests. I am a dog owner and love animals but to expect guests and the volunteers to listen to barking while nobody takes any kind of effort to stop it or control the animals, the only person I saw trying to control the dogs was a paying guest. On two separate occasions the smaller dog growled at me late at night, the dogs are in a borderline wild pack and it's a matter of when not if a guest is attacked. My second night somebody had left two of the dogs inside and the other three out the noise was unbearable, every other guest in my dorm complained about it to me it ruined my last two nights in Floripa.

The place felt just like home, not a conventional hostel. The views from the roof are amazing. The house is nice and chill during the hot summer days. Amazing big kitchen that has everything you need to cook your meals.

Patz Houz was one of the best hostels I've stayed at! perfect for a long term stay or for working from home. Location was perfect, in Barra da Lagoa. You can walk to the beach everyday. I loved that there was free breakfast, a rooftop, a coworking room. It felt like staying in a big house rather than a hostel, which I really liked for a longer stay. In addition, the dorm rooms were actually quite comfortable and I feel as though I could stay there for a long term stay even in a shared dorm. Beds were comfortable, there were curtains for privacy, and the other guests were not loud or disruptive at night, as it is not exactly a party hostel - so I got a good night's sleep each night. Also, everything was quite clean including the bathrooms. The hostel staff (Karina and Allan) were awesome and so fun to hang out with! I will definitely come back to stay.

Patz House is a dream come true. it feels like a home, the kitchen is amazing, the dorms feel like a cosy bedroom and everyone is so friendly. The four dogs are also beautiful and so cuddly and fun!

Nothing it’s amazing! If you’re backpacker wanting a super social or party vibe it might not be the place for you as most people are chilling and working through the day (perfect for nomads)

Breakfast was broad and varying compared to others, more like a little buffet.

This hostel is a home from home and used to be Patz’s home. It’s quirky but comfortable with lots of different areas to hang out in. Stayed in a super comfortable private room with en suite. The three dogs who live there are adorable. Patz put on a bbq one day which was really good.

It’s not a party hostel so don’t stay here if that’s what you are looking for. It’s a short walk to town but literally just 5-10 mins.
