Hotel Raices Machupicchu

We arrived at 9 PM, exhausted, for a one-night stay before our early departure to Machu Picchu at 6:30 AM. Upon arrival, we discovered a very loud festival happening in the soccer field next to the hotel. When I asked the front desk lady when it would end, she assured me it would be over by 11 PM. Realizing we couldn’t sleep with the noise, we left the hotel and returned around 11 PM, only to find the festival still in full swing. We asked the front desk lady again, and she said it would end by midnight. We went to our room and tried to rest until then, but the noise was so intense the entire room was shaking. The festival actually lasted until 3 AM, and the front desk staff left at midnight! We managed only an hour or two of sleep. If we had been informed the festival might continue past midnight, we would have chosen a different hotel. As a result, our one-night stay for much-needed rest was completely ruined. On a less important note, the room was dusty, and since the windows were left open before our arrival, it was filled with mosquitoes and flies that we had to deal with. Additionally, the breakfast was quite unappealing.

I stayed two nights and I really enjoyed this place. Convenient location and very clean, definitely recommend!

You get what you pay for here. We had hair under our covers, there was no tv remote, you have to ask for the WiFi, and the shower floor leaked out into the rest of the area under the sink. You get one pillow and one set of shampoo and soap packets for a two person room. When you check out and leave your bags, there is no watching of the bags. They are left in a location without supervision. DO NOT STAY HERE.

I don’t recommend this place for long stays. Staff are nice but every time we left or arrived asked us too many questions and we were feeling uncomfortable about it (and sometimes they asked us to leave the room key), it’s not something usual. Another thing is that the hot water was not working and the shower had serious electrical issues (the shower knob was giving us electric shocks). Even though we informed it, it was not fixed or we were moved to another room. Breakfast is light.

Very friendly staff. I would recommend that they do a little something more to keep the flies out of the dining area. Other that it’s a nice hotel with great location. No frills hotel but has everything you need. I do recommend this hotel.

The staff was incredibly nice. They do happy hours on second floor with very nice bartender.

We are extremely happy with this place and will recommend 1,000 to everyone. I can’t wait to visit more of their hotels

Everything was very good. The room had an outstanding view. Breakfast was average. It was very noisy outside the hotel at all hours of the night. Staff should direct clients to cross the bridge to look for the best restaurants.

The Hotel Raices was a great value with very kind staff. We only stayed here one night and enjoyed the walk from the train station and to bus for Machu Picchu. The hotel also served breakfast early for those with an early hike. It did get a bit loud at night with people leaving the bars but overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel!
