Wanda Reign Resort & Villas Sanya Haitang Bay

First of let me explain my background. I’m a frequent traveler for private and business so I’m also a Hilton Diamond Member. I stayed in all kind of Hilton hotels all around the world. I’m not traveling with Kids etc so my focus is more on Gym / Entertainment / Service etc. Let me Start: The Hotel seems to be very nice a few years ago but as often in China there is no good maintenance and focus on details. The Check-in was ok and friendly but no explanation about the hotel etc. I’m traveling with a chinese friend so the language barrier doesn’t matter 😂 Due to my status we got upgraded to a garden villa with own pool. The room looks nice a bit old fashioned but you can see clearly at the pool that a lot of things are not maintained or damaged but overall ok. Bigger downside are the details: They only provide two towels and we had ask for more which took them a long time to bring. Come on if you have a pool at the room you need towels for sunbathing etc. We wanted to watch a dvd and it didn’t worked because of a missing HDMI cable. It took them more than 1.5 hours and six people to fix it while in the meantime I was told it is not possible but I insisted on watching a DVD. We ordered 3 coke and two Red Bull because the (for us complimentary) minibar was nearly empty and coke insight. It took them 3 people and 3 visits to bring it. The public pool areas are a disaster!!! Not maintained at all...everything dirty and damaged I would not like to spend any minutes there. But no one does!!! It is totally empty and the same for the beach no Umbrellas / no service just an empty beach . Also no service at the pool. Worst thing for me is the gym. Very poor equipment and no cleaning etc. AC works poorly so it is 26 Degrees insight. The trash I have recognized at the first day just moved to a different corner at the second day. One towel available in the gym! This is not because it is heavily used. Overall I have to hardly question the management of that Hotel. If you would visit your own place as a guest you would see all these issues and these issues are not acceptable for a CONRAD.

Nice restaurant decor and staffs are friendly and with great knowledge! The young lady (named Aimee Tang) who served me was actually there for work placement, whom was able to offer friendly yet professional service. She introduced the local dishes and didn’t let me down. Hard to order when dining alone and she helped me made the right choice of food. I wish her every success in her future career in the hospitality industry. One downside was the mosquitoes problem! Very annoying throughout the dinner.

the place looks fine, just bad maintenance, some of the pools are abandoned. The hardware is okay, the service is the terrible part. When the roof have water leakage problem, it took them a long time to fix it. By fixing, they just pull the pile and drain the water, they made the place even more a mass. My vacation has been ruined since then. Would never come again.

Stayed at the Conrad as I am a gold Hilton member and I have to say this would have to be one of my worst Hilton experiences. At the start check in was so so slow and the fact that the staff member could speak very little English did not help. Nothing was able to be explained about the services the hotel offered or suggestions on what attractions to see. The hotel is looking a little tired and run down. Maybe this is why hardly anybody was staying at the hotel. Ordered pizza on room service that took an age to arrive. I had ordered salami, chilli, onion etc, but when it arrived it was just tomato. Dined at the chinese restaurant on site on the first night and then went to the Atlantis for the rest of the stay. Woke up at 7.50am with a gardener cutting the grass outside with a weed-eater. The service was just terrible and I didn't enjoy at all. This is meant to be a five star hotel and on this occasion it certainly fell well short of this standard, and for the price they are charging you would expect much much better than this.

Stayed in a Garden view Villa it was so comfortable I didnt want to come home. A big thank you to Marry Q (house keeping) she was absolutely amazing. It was a delight to open the door each morning to see her friendly smile, couldn't do enough for me. Also want to mention the following: Richard Gao GM (fellow Brit) was very approachable and had a natter with him on a couple of occasions. Helen He front desk manager was very helpful and at one point escorted me to the Chinese restaurant to assist me in ordering lunch. Rachael front desk very friendly and helpful, Lucky, Chinese restaurant manager so friendly and even helped me to extract the lobster meat from its shell. Jessica Western restaurant/lobby lounge manager also so friendly and very helpful, and finally Yuri the waitress in the lobby lounge, huge smile and friendly nature. The fact I got to know the staff by first names shows the true character of the Conrad Sanya. In my opinion It doesn't matter how luxurious the hotel is, if the staff are miserable then you want enjoy.The one feature that strikes you when you enter the hotel is the wonderful garden, other trip advisor reviewers have also mentioned this it is truly a delight to walk around. I thought the Villa I stayed in was very good value for money, it was cleaned immaculately each day, the pool was so refreshing to dip into on a hot day. The Beach was clean and not crowded unlike some beaches in Thailand, the restaurants were above average, and I particularly enjoyed the Philippine band that couldn't stop smiling (thanks Ariz). Planning to go back in September as the Conrad ticks all the boxes for a relaxing luxurious holiday.

Our first vacation to Hainan Sanya, the hotel is superb. Nice amenities, room is big and clean, my son love the bath tub and private pool. The beach is also nice and hotel staffs are helpful. The hotel is better Big that you need buggy to bring you around. Nice 👍🏻

Ideally located with a beautiful beach and professional courteous staff. Beautiful comfortable villas and great breakfast. Also within close proximity to the Duty Free Mall and guests of Conrad enjoy an extra 5% discount off designer brands such as Gucci, Prada, etc.
