The Bungalows by Homestead Modern at The Joshua Tree Retreat Center

Everything was great, from the stylish design of the room to the amazing location in the desert. Beautiful and peaceful. We woke up with an amazing view and a little rabbit outside our bungalow.

Communication and logistic upon booking was a bit too complicated. Other hotels we booked with Booking.com don't typically request to fill in forms, upload passport, photo of the credit card etc.. And was also difficult to get the code to check-in without a USA phone number. We suggest to make it easier for tourists :)

It’s a very beautiful and comfortable accommodation

There was no gas in the outdoor grill or fire pit, so we weren't able to enjoy a barbecue

We loved the retro/mid century decor around the place. Nature around it was incredible. We got to see jackrabbits a lot, chipmunks, and birds of all sorts around the property. The spaciousness of the apartment was a delight. The bed was really comfortable. The couch and chair in the living room were very comfortable as well.

We didn’t get told the oven was broken. Thankfully we didn’t end up buying anything to heat up in the oven but we had seriously considered to bring a pizza from Trader Joe’s on our way there. Also the air conditioners is best not to mess with the settings, as they have to be coordinated otherwise it will stop working. We had our bedroom air conditioner stop at 4:30 am due to that quirky set up.

Beautiful scenery, peaceful, very nicely appointed stay with the stunning desert backdrop. I'd stay here again for sure. The historic architechture fits so well into the landscape.
