The Palms by Eagles, Takoradi

The restaurant staff was very nice, particularly Forrest, but all service was very slow. Not just culturally slow, unattentive. The room had good flow to it and was ample for a single person. The pool area was lovely. The housekeeping staff was very nice. The breakfast, which is included, is nice although the same every day. There is an omelet station too.

The front desk staff was downright rude often. They do not understand the word hospitality. Additionally, they entered my room and separtely rang the door bell, when I had the 'do not disturb' sign on. Violation of the number one rule in hoteling. It is far from most things and not very close to the beach. The room I had did not have a security bar on the door. The safes lock with a church key, which you then have to lug around - and I suspect they are good for all the safes so not very secure. The rooms are dated and there was mold in the bathroom. There was supposed to be executive lounge access, but no one was ever able to show that to me. The booking said there was a microwave in the room - and clearly there was a space for one, but there wasn't. When I asked about it the staff said it was not for my room class. They didn't seem to care that my confirmation shows a microwave. There is no hair dryer. It is not on the list of amenities, so I brought mine, but that should be a common amenity in a hotel of this nature.
