Never at Home Kloof Street

Located right on top of a barand I didn't know, I booked on a weekend night so it wasn't the best of experiences. 2beds put together with separate bedding 🙄😒. Got a backpacker kinda feel to it. It's great if you're after weekend fun on kloof st I suppose

I liked the activities schedule and the drive of the team to put people together. I also liked the voice of the yoga instructor delivering the sessions in front of the window of my room. :P . I was drinking wine from the bottle, he was stretching everybody's limbs. Ha ha!

Sehr nettes Personal und überragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis

The location is excellent for the city and its surprising quiet considering its near a good bar. The views of Table Mountain are great. The breakfast I’d paid for (which is just a short walk up and across the road) at Arnold’s Cafe is excellent.p

The hostel and especially the dorm wasn’t to my liking, I’m used to Portugese hostel that are bright White, ultra modern, pristinely clean and excellent amazing facilities. The 4-bed female dorm was very small, dark, old metal bunk beds and felt a bit cell-like, very hot and stuffy even with the ceiling fan on full, night and day and the windows open. So I had no choice but to upgrade to a private room, which was far better, has a safe, decent size bathroom, amazingly comfy large bed however still hot and stuffy. They are in the process of doing upgrades and I believe this is well-needed as it’s very dark, dismal and tired looking. It’s more industrial warehouse decor. Having said that the staff were kind and friendly and especially Niqe she was extremely helpful. Great place for younger solo travellers to socialise. I carried on to ‘The Big’ at Greenpoint which in my opinion is more open, airy, clean looking, homely, which nice communal areas. And better value for money. It attracts a wider age range from young, old, families, groups and solos. The Big - Lovely hostel, lots of nice communal areas and relaxing areas. The 3 female dorm (more like a girls sleepover (no bunks), It was lovely, light, airy, lots of airflow, large lockers, clean and didn’t feel like a hostel - very homely with nice little decor.

Emplacement (situation idéale pour être dans le centre ville sans les inconvénients du centre tel que le bruit de la nightlife), quartier calme et safe, le cadre/équipement (les espaces communs sont bien pensés et aménagés (la terrasse à l’étage particulièrement paisible), Hostel organisé de sorte à privilégier les rencontres entre les guests (activités gratuites et payantes proposées, groupe whatsapp pour la communication des annonces etc, …), arrêt de bus à proximité, restos et supermarché à proximité, grande cuisine équipée, local de travail/réunion pour pouvoir travailler, amabilité, serviabilité et disponibilité du personnel d’accueil (dommage je n’ai pas retenu les noms pour remercier personnellement), intervention rapide du personnel une fois problème de réseau signalé, nettoyage quotidien des chambres, possibilité de dépôt de bagages avant checkin et après Check out dans un local, accueil h24, …

Internet ne fonctionnait pas dans chambre durant tt mon séjour (des mesures ont été prises rapidement après signalement), gros rats dans la terrasse/le jardin du rez de chaussée, pas de changement de drap quotidien, vol d’argent dans la chambre durant le séjour + ma valise a été ouverte dans le dépôt.

Fantastic location for foodies and people looking for buzzing nightlife. The staff are fantastic and it’s easy to feel at home here. The kitchen is great, with everything one needs to whip up something delicious. There are also tours and activities every day, so there’s no time for boredom. I loved the indoor workspace.
