Communal Hotel Telavi

The hotel was really cool. Gorgeous design throughout. Really good drinks (Aperol Spritz was one of the nicest I’ve had). The staff were so welcoming and attentive, really appreciate the help Ani gave us to organise a trip to a vineyard in the nearby town. We just wish we could have stayed longer as the restaurant Doli (attached to the hotel) looked really nice too!

One of the best restaurants on our entire trip. Extremely comfortable room and bed. Very nice design. It was cold when we visited but the backyard is also very nice.

There are some street dogs around that bark at night. It didn’t bother us but people who are sensitive might need ear plugs.

The interior design is nice and cosy with great attention to detail. The staff are friendly and attentive. It’s well located on a beautiful street. Loved Doli — the restaurant on the ground floor.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but a few small issues added up and affected the experience. The shower water pressure in one of the rooms was extremely low — almost unusable. We also found that the remote control batteries were missing, and there was less than a full roll of toilet paper provided. Additionally, there were loud stray dog fights during the night right outside the hotel (both nights), which made it difficult to sleep. I understand this isn’t the hotel’s fault, but it’s worth noting. If you’re a light sleeper, I’d recommend requesting a poolside room, as those are a bit quieter.

Communal felt like a little homestay in the middle of our very rainy visit to Kakheti region. The staff is absolutely adorable, very attentive and genuinely caring. Excellent wine menu, great restaurant and with the kitchen in the true heart of the hotel, the facilities always smell like fresh bread.

The bathroom of our room could be improved - lighting was not great and the shower pressure is very very weak. Room was also quite small, but as we stayed only two days, we did not mind. We could not make use of the cute balcony and outdoor bathtub, but I am sure it's very quaint when the weather is nice.
