Entire Seaside Home, Sleeps 8, All en-suite rooms

Plenty of shared group space, with a spacious living room and nice dining room, plus a lovely sunroom at back and really nice garden with seating as well. The kitchen was large & airy, with plenty of counter space and all the amenities you’d need.

The baths were small - but no smaller than the average European bath - and counterspace was at a premium. We bought a little catchall with suction cups to give ourselves a place to put the soap & shampoo, etc, in the shower, and left it for the next guests. Also, like pretty much all hotels, the bathroom light automatically turned on the loud vent and both the bright light & noise were inconvenient at nighttime as the bed was just a foot away, so we bought a little push-on battery-operated light for the night. We took that with us & used it in similar situations in other accommodations. Our biggest criticism would be that all the mirrors, in bathrooms, bedrooms and living room, were hung horizontally and high. For example, as a short woman, I could only see my face from the nose up - and there was a beveled edge so my nose did not look attached to my face - in the bathroom mirror. I was able to use the bedroom mirror to do makeup & hair as it was slightly lower - though had to buy an extension cord to use the hairdryer there - but was not able to see anything below my neck to check my appearance.

We arrived after a bad experience at the originally booked site, therefore booked on the evening of start. We arrived well over an hour after normal check in time. Dave met us at the taxi, helped unload and took all our bags upstairs to our rooms. He made sure we were all ok, gave us the guided tour of the house, and even provided a loaf of bread and milk in addition to tea and coffee. Dave further checked on us the next morning to ensure we were all ok and had a good sleep. The house is well equipped, beautifully laid out, and very comfortable. It made our doctoral graduation event special.

A few little things to be finished off internally but doesn’t effect your stay in anyway. The wall was a little damp on the stairs side.

Large spacious rooms in a great location. Well equipped eg TV in lounge and each bedroom. Host left useful provisions like tea and coffee.
