We stayed here for 4 nights and overall had a really lovely experience. The standout feature of this hotel is definitely the staff — every single person we interacted with was genuinely welcoming, kind and friendly. It was noticeably better service than we’ve experienced at many other hotels and made a big difference to our stay.
The hotel itself is smaller than we expected, but honestly that worked in its favour. The pool area and buffet never felt overcrowded, and the whole atmosphere was peaceful and relaxed throughout our stay. The location is also beautiful if you want somewhere quiet and calm. There aren’t lots of shops, bars or tourist strips nearby — just a small shop opposite selling clothes, toiletries and a few essentials. The beach is only around a 5-minute walk away and was one of our favourite parts of the holiday: soft sand, clear shallow water, no sellers, no rows of sunbeds, and it felt very natural and untouched.
Our room was comfortable overall. The beds were excellent, the air conditioning worked very well, and the TV was modern enough that we could screen share from a Samsung phone and watch downloaded shows, which was a nice bonus. The free WiFi throughout the hotel was also probably the best we’ve had abroad — very fast and reliable everywhere. A safe was also provided free of charge, which was appreciated.
The pool itself is on the smaller side but very clean, modern and well maintained. There’s also a tiny separate children’s pool for toddlers. Pool towels were available with a €10 deposit each. The bar drinks were great value and genuinely good quality — beers were around €3 and cocktails around €7.50 and definitely not watered down. Staff were also always happy to provide free filtered tap water and refill bottles. The cabanas around the pool were also worth it at €10 per day, especially as they included two drinks.
The food was decent overall, although a little repetitive even during a 4-night stay. Some evenings were much better than others. The buffet is relatively small, but there was still a reasonable amount of choice including pizza, pasta, burgers cooked fresh in front of you, freshly cooked fish and meat, soups, salad, bread, rice, potatoes and various hot dishes. The stir fry chef in particular was excellent — really tasty food and huge portions. One downside was that most buffet items that weren’t freshly cooked tended to be only lukewarm or sometimes cold.
I’m pescatarian and dairy free, so I paid particular attention to allergen options. There aren’t allergen labels on the dishes, although there is a sign encouraging guests to speak to staff, who were helpful when asked. I think vegetarians would manage fairly easily, but vegans may struggle a bit more for protein options. Breakfast did include dairy-free milks (soya, almond and oat) and Alpro soya yoghurt was available on request, which was appreciated. The fruit at breakfast and dinner was also consistently excellent.
The pool snack bar was probably the weakest area for dietary variety. There were only a few options for vegetarian/vegan/dairy-free guests. I ended up having the tuna baguette twice, which was nice. Vegetarian choices were more limited to things like margarita pizza, egg sandwiches, cheese toasties and chips.
We stayed in room 2002, which had pros and cons. The location was convenient because we could walk straight out into the pool/bar area without needing stairs or lifts. However, the room did feel slightly dated in places and probably due for renovation soon. We also had a few ants and flies come into the room during our stay, and there was bird mess on the balcony initially (although housekeeping cleaned this after a few days). Small detail, but proper mugs instead of paper cups for tea/coffee would also have been nicer.
The room included shampoo and shower gel, although no hair conditioner was provided. Although we could slightly see the sea from the room, the view was mostly blocked by trees — though we hadn’t paid for a sea view, so that felt fair enough. The entertainment in the evenings was fairly loud between around 9:30pm–11pm and could be heard clearly from the room, especially in the bathroom. We personally enjoyed hearing it, but it may not suit families with very young children trying to sleep early. Soundproofing generally wasn’t great either, as we could hear furniture scraping and doors banging from nearby rooms quite often.
One thing we really appreciated was the availability of showers in reception for guests leaving later in the day after check-out. They were very clean and useful before travelling home, although they only provided shower gel and not shampoo or conditioner.
A couple of practical notes for anyone travelling here:
* Taxi from Reus Airport to the hotel was around €45
* Taxi to/from PortAventura was around €15 each way
Overall though, we really enjoyed our stay. The peaceful atmosphere, lovely staff, clean facilities and beautiful beach nearby made this a hotel we would happily return to for another short break.
