"Back to basics."

2.0

The location was great. We also forgot towels and the host was kind enough to lend us some.

At night time, there was no lighting to guide you around the site. Had to make sure mobile phone torches were turned on to get from the shower/toilet back to the tent. Could put some simple and cheap solar lights on the pathways to make it easier and safer. It was really cold at night in the tents. Had to layer up clothes. Bedding was not fresh and both pillows and duvets could do with a thorough wash! They did not smell plesant at all. Damp and musty smell. "Kitchen area" could do with a refurbishment. Barely anywhere to prepare food. Microwave did not work. The shower was temperamental. Temperature kept changing and shower kept stopping. Also, very difficult to use in private. The shower cabin is small and poorly built. No where to put towel/clothes. There was a cat on site. We found it licking the bbq grill, no way we were using that after.

The location is wonderful and private. Great for both family and friends.

Needs a generator for if and when the power goes out. The toilet facilities can be improved.

"A COMPLETE GEM OF A PLACE, TRUE NATURE EXPERIENCE"

8.0

Such a beautiful peaceful place, loved being immersed in nature for a few days, not many places where you have the place all to yourselves like this is was bliss, the tents were big and comfy beds, the cabin was a fantastic central place to meet , eat & drink in the evening, toilets & shower close to the cabin, I liked that everything was handmade or reclaimed it was all very rustic, the views were breathtaking. Owner there to meet and greet and took our cases in his car which was a massive help. BBQ area was great fire pit area lovely Close to the towns & sea and places of interest all around 1/2 drive away. Beds were comfy Electric sockets a godsend Lamps in tents were nice addition.

No hook in the shower area or anywhere to dry feet, didn't bother me but some of older members of our family struggled, The hill up to the cabin was very steep, should be mentioned before booking, we struggled and one older family member almost couldn't get up to the top, a small heater in the cabin would of been great for those chilly evenings. Bedding was lovely but was chilly at night so bring extra blankets you will need them even in summer. Having to leave the dog in the cabin was not ideal for us and should be mentioned before booking. These are just tips not big issues and don't detract from the beauty of the place.
