Everything! The host, the location, the accommodation! Getting off the grid to such a remote location was just superb!

Absolutely gorgeous location! The bell tent was perfect with blankets and hot water bottles. I could tell all of the criticisms they had received they have changed and actioned. It was signposted, lights available, electric power points, hot water etc it was perfect!

The mattress was a little thin - my partner could feel the pallets. It’s also not totally private as there’s another cabin that shares the field with you although they don’t use your facilities

The views surrounding the area and the initial set up were lovely, at a first glance me and my partner were very happy.

The property was not the same as the photos advertised, some of the facilities were not working and outdoor furniture was rusty. When contacting the owner about these issues after our stay, we were then accused of us being the reason the kitchen hob facilities were broken and the owner was very rude on message, even accused me of threatening her with a bad review in order to “entice” her into giving a refund. When confronted about the property tent and bed not being the ones advertised in the photos, she said that this was an issue with Travel Nest not updating the photos, which can I add after her looking into these photo issues on Sunday, they have still not been amended and the roughly 30 of these photos are not of the tent and bed facilities that they offer. The bed was that uncomfortable we actually left at 1am in the morning and drove home and couldn’t sleep. We were also then told by the owner that she didn’t see any sign of somebody having a struggle to sleep, suggesting we hadn’t even used the facilities, due to how tidy things were left. Overall our experience was not what I thought it was going to be, due to false advertisement and then the attitude and rudeness of the owner was nothing short of rude and unprofessional. I have taken this as a bad experience and wouldn’t book again but felt the need to leave a review so that people know what they are booking and don’t go in with the same expectations as myself and my partner did from the false advertisement of the tent facilities.

Beautiful peaceful countryside location. The roll top bath in the private bathroom room facilities for the bell tent in the converted stable (however due to a lack of hot water this wasn’t possible to use- was the main reason for booking). The owner did her best to respond to the issue with no hot water and we were provided with a place to stay the second night as were unable to stay in the tent due to a wasp infestation.

Sadly the facilities were rather shabby and not representative of the photos. The kitchen/dining stable floor needed re-gravelling and the black anti weed fabric was showing through. The bathroom was not usable as no running hot water (off grid and so limited solar power to heat water). The main reason for booking was for a restful break and to use the bath tub overlooking the beautiful countryside. Sadly- and obviously not something in the owners control- there was a wasp nest/swarm close by…however the mesh at the top of the bell tent was damaged/rotted which allowed numerous wasps in..which we awoke to find seaming in the tent- thankfully neither us or our dog were bitten…but an unpleasant awakening. We were kindly offered the cottage for our second night. This however hasn’t been cleaned between guests and so all in all our experience would lead us to not feel able to recommend or to return to. A shame, as the accommodation has the potential to be a special place to stay for a relaxing and restful break.

Lovely countryside location, belle tent is so spacious and the outdoor kitchen is super cosy.

No light in bathroom (light switch but no light?!) Would’ve been great to have the following: Cheese grater Mirror in belle tent Labelled bin (were we supposed to use the box, sorry if not) Spare batteries if lights in belle tent stop work (one did) Signage at entrance to property would be really helpful
