Easy to find. Parking options nearby. Clean room, fun atmosphere

The room was so much more spacious than we expected. It was clean and quiet and the hosts provided some nice staples for their guests. Getting in and out was very easy because of the stellar communication, and we had a very easy walk to the venue we werw going to, as advertised. Very happy with our stay, thank you!

Great value for a very nice accommodation in a walkable neighborhood. Chinatown restaurants are all within walking distance and Wood St pizza nearby is excellent. Mgmt was super responsive with any questions.

The Krestel Hotel is actually more like an Air B&B. Communication with owner was very good, responsive. The room was fairly spartan. There are minimal furnishings, no tv, but the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Had a wonderful sleep. The bathroom was spacious with a great shower. The kitchette was new and well appointed. The location was in an out of the way neighborhood but close to subway, suburban trains, great coffee shop and a couple of bars and restaurants . The price was right and if you need a comfortable place to sleep, close to town, i would definitely recommend

Great location, close to Reading Terminal Market and Chinatown. We had a great hands-off, no contact experience, but the hosts were readily available if we needed them. Highly recommend the parking garage if it's available. Parking in March was atrocious.

The Kestrel is one of two Philly "invisible service hotels," i.e., no staff on-site ("Think of us as professionally managed Airbnb units"). We stayed in the one in the "Loft District," also known as the Callowhill area. It was a good price and it wasn't unpleasant, but it was a bit odd. Pro: The location, a five-minute walk across Vine Expwy. from the Convention Center (we were in town for the Flower Show) and a few blocks from a nice brew pub, a good pizza place and coffee shop, and the newly opened little section of their "High Line" elevated park. The parking: only two spots at ground level, reservable in advance for $40/night, worth it not to have to navigate a terrifying Philly public garage. The room: clean, a comfy bed (we had the "Billy Penn" room), cool view of said Penn statue downtown, and a complete and well-equipped kitchen. Nice complimentary amenities (shampoo, coffee). Area was quiet at night. Con: It felt like a kitchen with a bed in it, not a bedroom with a kitchen. "Industrial chic" is the opposite of cozy: merciless lighting from glaring bulbs, ugly polished cement floors in bathroom, and a ridiculous canvas shower curtain that wouldn't cover the perimeter, resulting in a puddle on said cement floor. And NO TELEVISION SET. And after dark, the neighborhood of old loft buildings--about half fancy new condos and half spooky hulks--has very little foot traffic or commercial activity. The little lobby is done up like "Dwell" magazine, but the elevator area feels like a deserted factory entrance, a jarring transition as you go upstairs. As for the "invisible service," they were fine--excellent instructions for entry to room and garage, and responsive to queries via text. They were also considerate about early check-in and late check-out, much appreciated. We had no problems during our short stay, so I can't vouch for how well they'd respond to needing in-person help.

The room was clean and comfortable for my overnight stay. Checking in and out was very smooth and convenient. Lastly, I’d like to add a big “thank you” to Louis for his unwavering customer support.
