Cozy River Cabin w Screened Porch & Fire Pit

Quiet place away from the sounds of trains tooting their horns, a ten minute drive to Alma and very close to the Mississippi River. We liked the comfortable space, full kitchen and nice little outside area to hang out at, a barbequer next to our little cabin, plus a few in the outdoor area available to use. The manager answered his phone every time I called with questions and offered the use of towels that were not in the cabin but close by in a shed.

Uneven floors, one bedroom had a bed that took up much of the space and I had to crawl onto the bed to get in because it was so cramped. The fitted sheet was too small for the mattress and it came off two nights in a row. The second bedroom had two twin beds and our adult son said he didn't sleep well and the bed was not that comfortable. The flooring was uneven in cabin 3 and the shower was small with a shower head that is perfect for a tall person, but for a 5'3" person it sprayed way above my head. The plus side of it was that the water was super hot and the sprayer had a few different spray options. The cabin had a stuffy smell at first, but when we opened a window and kept fans going it made a huge difference. The cost to rent the cabin was more than it should have been for the quality ($673 for 3 nights) and another lodge with cabins a short distance from there was quite a bit cheaper, though I didn't know about that place until we were already there. For October I would think the cost would be more reasonable, especially since on our trip from Montana to Wisconsin I found several hotels very reasonably priced from $90-115 per night, so these little cabins should not be costing twice the price of a hotel room in the middle of October in my opinion. We did appreciate not being in an area where trains toot their horns at all hours of the day and night, so that was a definite plus.

Uniquely different property. Appears to be a Nice set up for hunters/fishermen. A little deceiving listing as it is not on the water. You can see the River and a short walk across the road to the dock but not on the River. It is in a residential area.

The cabin was clean

on the porch the view was the neighbors trash and disgarded stuff. Recommend extending the privacy fence. this was a bare bones facility.

The cabin was wonderful...spacious. We liked the outdoor screened in patio too. The view on the nearby dock on the water was beautiful. The staff was super responsive.

The lights in the living area were a little too bright. The mattress was a little soft.

Loved the area. Cabins were close to the water. Beautiful area to go for a walk. Clean, friendly. We will be back!

Very clean. Room for a family with full kitchen and dining included.

Upper bunk very thin mattress only suitable for a smaller child. Have to bring your own bath towels, dish cloths.

Clean not far from a big town to shop for food!

If ur traveling n just need a grt n unique place to hang out n have a beautiful view of mississippi river ...this would be it. .stayed in the rental rv for overnite stay n enjoyed a fire ...uhm not the mosquitos...but the fire n the quietness was just what we wanted wth our travels ...thank you
