Bulls Head - Holymoorside

Absolutely lovely place. The team that run it are so friendly and welcoming and the service is second to none.

The food was good but we were very disappointed in the extra charges for coffee and orange juice. The orange juice was described as freshly squeezed but came from a very cheap carton of concentrate. There was only a mouthful which was not worth 3GBP per glass. The coffee was also charged at 3GBP butt every where else I have stayed is included in the breakfast. Also a charge was made for planting a tree to offset CO2 which was meant to be optional but as added without us being given the option. Looking up the website and reference number showed no sign it had been registered

All round excellent, lovely venue, amazing food and great staff

Due to the fact there was a christmas event on in the morning the staff seemed to be pulled in many directions meaning breakfast service was not as slick as evening service i.e milk was forgotten because as staff member was asked to move a table and greet the stall holders

Breakfast wasn’t great, toast was really hard and my partner fell over, hurting her ankle outside when promised the outdoor seating area would be well lit.

Uninspiring entrance to the lodging, overrated, poor value for money, not luxury, small facilities, inconvenient check out, Things not working E.g, desktop lamp, cracked glass, broken blinds, curtain poles had missing parts. Plastic plant, no thick duvet or available cover in wardrobe, empty biscuits bag in drawer, uncomfortable puff where to sit in front of the vanity, no shower protection dirty plug hole in the bath, only 3 hangers, dirty alarm clock that was not working. The place had no atmosphere, and the bed was small. TV no free view, and it was not possible to sign in using netflix or amazon accounts, although the info book said yes. Also poor Internet signal. Tea bags unprotected inside an unappealing tea caddy. Uncomfortable milk jug left inside an outside fridge which was shared with other rooms, a big thumbs down. We wanted to leave as soon as we could. We do not recommend this. Unfortunately, we felt we made a bad decision staying there.

We had dinner and breakfast at the Bulls Head. Dinner was delicious, we spent 3 hours from start to finish eating beautifully prepared food that was flavoursome and delicious! Great choices for breakfast which were cooked well and tasty. All staff were helpful and friendly. Room’s comfortable and decorated well !
