The apartment is in a deplorable state, everything leaks, smells, is half broken

The excellent location is the only postive thing I can really say about this apartment. They did allow for early check-in

Not as pictured and definitely has issues with smokers. - arrival access code- was given 4 different messages for arrival with various codes. This made arrival after a long flight and train ride very frustrating. Had to find cleaning staff to figure out the apartment and key. - first night there was a loud event happening- sounded like from the basement- this went on until 1am. Possibly a one-off, and we were unlucky. -from the moment we stepped into the room- terrible smell of cigarettes, old food and drains. It remined for the 4 nights we stayed. -burn holes in curtains and furniture. Smoke detectors have been removed, so clearly smoking is an issue here. My daughter has allergies, so this was very bad for us. - The reverse side of the mattress on the pull-out was disgusting. what looked like old blood stains. Pillows were terrible, old, saggy. -kitchen, not well stocked at all. Barely any cutlery, no forks. Dishes had been put away with food still on them. Gross. -No deep cleaning done- lots of stains on headboards, fabric, etc. -The shower and sink did not drain properly in the bathroom. Maybe part of the smell issue? -No lights inside the entryway, so expect to arrive home in the dark. (not great for single female travellers) I would also like to point out that the site's photography is "very creative." This is far from luxury. I have travelled extensively, both on a budget and in luxury. The minimum you expect is clean and maintained, and this apartment was not either.
