Pickalbatros Sands Port Ghalib

great hotel it the heart of Port Ghalib - not a natural retreat, but more of a urban resort in which beach-life and summer vibes cohexist armoniously. And the sea view from the room is amazing.

I had forgotten this was an AI resort, so that was a huge bonus. Greeted well on arrival, and shown to our room soon afterwards. Nice room, with fruit bowl, water, soda. Very extensive range of food over the site; excellent breakfast and dinners. Choice of fresh and saltwater pools. Easy access to extensive beach. Plenty of loungers.

This is not Booking.Com's fault, but I used Google to check the location of the hotel - which had a location balloon over a marina building, adjacent the south beach, not eastern stretch. So I was very misled by that. We did not like the way that the music was cranked up to max volume for animation events (water polo, aquarobics etc), when the majority of the people by the pool, did not get involved. We had one meal on our last night at Tagine billed as a la carte. We were asked what time, we would like dinner. We said 7 pm. We were then brought various dishes, to the table very quickly, and felt very hurried. Unsure why they would serve lasagne.. it wasn't good. We both had terrible food poisoning the next day. Our accommodation block was the furthest away from reception, and took a number of attempts to locate. Why don't you have numbers visible on the outside, or signposts, pointing the way? Beach is OK, but cannot access the sea apart from shallow paddling, as reef protected by rope-buoys. Not used to serving tea with cold milk available in any of the restaurants. I have forgotten to add - I had a disastrous experience in the nail salon. Asked for removal of gel, manicure and reapply. The lady technician was obviously very inexperienced - damaged two nails, caught my skin twice, only removed colour and not base-coat. Was about to start shaping my nails, but I pointed out there was still a lot of old gel to remove.. she started tp prize off the gel with a metal tool, which basically tore my nail, damaging it badly. I did take photos. I had to ask her to stop and left. I did report this to Sylvia, the lovely Guest Relations staff member. So be warned!

Nichts

Resort immenso diviso in 3 strutture collegate tra di loro, all'interno ci sta un parco acquatico con scivoli per grandi e piccoli, è presente una piscina grande ed un'altra con possibilitá di fare il percorso fiume lento con ile ciambelle. Ci sono 8 ristoranti sia con buffet che alla carta , ed è possibile mangiare alimenti Senza glutine (basta parlare con qualche responsabile o con lo chef), il resort è molto vicino a Port Ghalib marina dove ci sono molti negozietti e locali ed è a circa 8 km dall'aeroporto. Ci sta la possibilità di fare il bagno in mare ma, vista la presenza della barriera corallina, o si scende su 2 pontili diversi o dalla spiaggia per un breve tratto, la spiaggia è abbastanza grande con ombrelloni e lettini a disposizione

L'unica pecca erano i ragazzi che proponevano con troppa insistenza le escursioni o i servizi , però dopo un giorno abbiamo scoperto che si poteva ritirare insieme agli asciugamani, una bandana da attaccare all'ombrellone, con la scritta non disturbare

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo resort a Marsa Alam e ci siamo trovate davvero benissimo. Tutto è stato ottimo: dalla pulizia impeccabile della struttura e delle camere, ai servizi sempre curati e organizzati. Il cibo era molto vario, con proposte intercontinentali adatte un po’ a tutti i gusti, e abbiamo apprezzato tantissimo la qualità e la disponibilità dello staff. Un ringraziamento speciale ai ragazzi della ristorazione, della SPA e anche al ragazzo che si occupava della pulizia della camera: tutti gentilissimi, sorridenti e super attenti alle esigenze degli ospiti. Ci hanno fatto sentire accolte e coccolate durante tutta la vacanza. Anche la posizione del resort è ottima e permette di vivere il soggiorno in totale relax. Se proprio dobbiamo trovare un piccolo punto migliorabile, diremmo l’intrattenimento serale, che secondo noi potrebbe essere un po’ più coinvolgente e vario. Per il resto, esperienza assolutamente positiva e resort consigliatissimo!

Nulla, era tutto perfetto

Tout, vraiment! Cet hôtel est parfait pour une famille avec de petits enfants. Vous pouvez les emmener directement au parc acquatique qui est dans l`hôtel-même pour presque toute la journée. Pour les enfants plus grands (ados) il y a des tobogans juste à côté. La nourriture était bonne aussi. L`hôtel se trouve juste à côté de la plage. Par contre, il n`est pas possible d`y nager à cause des corals. Cependant, vous avez plusieurs piscines dans l`hôtel à votre choix.

J`aurais aimé d`avoir une plage avec du sable, mais ce n`est pas la faute de l`hôtel, c`est juste que cet endroit ne l`offre pas.
