"A joyful home-in-a-room in a beautiful location"

9.0

This was our first glamping experience and we loved it. We had great fun finding all the fixtures and fittings in this beautiful yurt because everything is so meticulously arranged. The table took us the longest to find! Everything was clean and working. The location, between harbour and RSPB reserve was wonderful. We particularly loved sitting outside on the bench, and snuggling inside watching the log burner. This gave us a proper get-away, winding down from the moment we arrived.

It is close to the road. Didn't mind the cars so much, but people walking on the path seemed very close. This was a minor thing, the noise stopped at night (except bird calls) and we would definitely come back.

"An amazing experience, (even in a storm!)"

9.0

An amazing experience! Easy check-in with an attentive host. Lovely yurt, in a lovely location. The ensuite bathroom has been upgraded, so you can have a shower under the stars! Little kitchenette had all the necessary equipment. The bed was so comfy & offered a great night's sleep. What more could you want?!

Would have liked a guard rail at the edge of the decking, but that's just because I'm not too good near water! Otherwise, it was all perfect!

"Quirky yurt."

8.0

It is quirky, had all the basics, and ideal as a base. It had a fire, which gave us a cosy feeling. The owners were just next door and very helpful. The bed was amazingly comfortable.

The road noise. The yurt is set next to a busy road. But it's a yurt, and as it was a base, it was of little consequence, as it didn't disturb our sleep.

"Bembridge idyll"

9.0

Size, decor, atmosphere, warmth (central heating) and facilities of the yurt. Location on the water's edge, views over the water, wooden decking/veranda, parking right across the road, beach on the harbour just minutes away, walking distance of Bembridge, bus stops very close, frequency of buses (including late at night back, from Ryde). Friendliness of host, Trudy.

Traffic noise, from as early as 5.30. Earplugs, for sleeping in, a good idea.

"What a lovely spot"

10.0

This is a lovely little spot. The person who meets you is very nice. All the little things they leave ready for you is very useful.

The road is very close and it took me a while to get used to the road noise. But you do get used to it.

"Lovely but loud"

7.0

The yurt is very well designed. It is comfortable, and the shower was excellent. The host was very helpful and kind.

As with other reviews, the yurt is basically just thick fabric, and situated right next to a busy road. Not only can you hear cars whizzing by, but you can hear every word of the conversations of people walking past, and presumably vice-versa. So, it's not easy to sleep.

"Interesting."

7.0

The yurt is super cosy and feels like a hug. The use of part of a boat to create the shower room is ingenious. The shower works well, plenty of hot water, which was important for us as we were cycling and swimming. The setting looking out of the yurt is very pleasant. The changing light through the day reflecting on the water makes for an atmospheric spot, great for sketching and photography. We had great fun on the kayaks lent to us by Trudi. Finally, the company of the resident cat was endearing.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, except for the road noise. I noticed in the reviews guests were advising it quietens down in the evening, but in August we did not experience that. Something to consider if you are thinking of staying longer than one of two nights.
