House with private pool was excellent.

Location had no stores within normal walking distance. Also, there seems to be a lot of electrical issues within the house. There should be be a TV guide as to what channels are available.

Positives: Housekeeper Mam was an absolute gem, she looked after us and made sure we were always comfortable and well cared for. She is truly an asset to the villa. The location was perfect for us, extremely quiet and relaxed, and the lake outlook was more beautiful than we expected. This villa is one of the only plots finished on that side of the lake, and the others are empty or abandoned, so there was not a lot of construction noise and it felt very private. Overall, we had a really great time at the villa.

Unfortunately there are a few things that really detracted from our experience and need to be mentioned. The villa is lacking in significant maintenance which impacted on our stay. Entire rooms have no working lights in the ceiling, our master ensuite had no light in the shower and no window blind in the toilet, impacting on privacy. The taps made your whole torso wet every time you used them and were just generally impossible to use properly. The airconditioners kept us cool but did not have accurate thermostats which made things challenging, especially in the middle of the night when the bedrooms would get unexpectedly warm. Contact with the office/owner was extremely difficult and at times I wasn't sure there even was an "English speaking office" contact in existence. I tried calling the numbers provided and they all went through to Mam, who whilst lovely does not speak any English. Emails through Booking.com and whatsapps were responded to sporadically and sometimes over 24hrs later. Eventually 'someone' replied, I have no clue who and only in one sentence responses. It made me worried that if something had gone seriously wrong we would have had no way of contacting anyone about it. Lastly, and whilst a small thing it had a huge impact, the master bed was the worst bed I have ever slept in in all my travels around the world. It was ROCK hard and felt like no mattress I have ever slept on before, with no foam or springs. Neither my husband or I ever got a good night's sleep which is not what we wanted during our main component of our "relaxing" vacation. Only one pillow was provided per person, and that pillow itself was awful too, flat and seemed very old, which was another oversight not in line with a villa accommodation of this standard. Any attempt at improving the situation was impossible, as Mam didn't speak English and the office never responded to my concerns.

- Spacious rooms, indoor and outdoor space for guests to relax - There are breezes coming in from the lake side all the time (especially in the late afternoon - evening time) - The house is fully equipped for self-catering - High standard on decoration, utilities and cleanliness (better than some 5-star venues in my experience) - The housekeeper is polite, welcoming and accommodating. - The fruits with breakfast are lovely. - Rice congee was good

- The chicken rice & pork bbq rice were just edible but I think there would be some better stores that they can source these menu around the area.

Lovely and very spacious villa with a beautiful garden and swimming pool, front lake view. Generally well maintained and equipped.

The area is a bit noisy with the train passing nearby and the presence of some army training camp. At the moment also several new constructions are in progress all around the villa.
