Paddock Cottage - Thorpe Arnold Melton Mowbray

Stunning peaceful location, the property was very tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable with all the little extras that you could want. The views were quite extraordinary. Mandy was delightful and very welcoming and helpful. We have stayed in many similar types of places but this one certainly ranks top of them.

We liked everything

The cottage is set amongst beautiful countryside and it is so peaceful and quiet. It is also perfectly located for a day trip to Ragdale Hall Spa which is only around 15 mins drive away. There are beautiful flowers around the property and you can tell it is so well cared for. Inside the cottage is spotless and everything is really good quality and looks brand new. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into making it as comfortable for guests as possible. The rooms are a great size and well equipped with everything we needed. The hosts paid attention to the details such as milk left in the fridge and fresh pastries. Thank you for a great stay!

Paddock Cottage is an absolute delight. Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst on a business trip. The property is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need and more. The finishing touches and attention to detail from owners Mandy and Richard is outstanding. Upon arrival I was greeted by Mandy who was so bubbly, friendly and welcoming. When entering the cottage you can feel the love, care and thought that has gone into it. Hopefully be back some time in the future, thank you

The cottage was very comfortable and finished to a high standard with everything you would need for a short break.

What a wonderful find! Absolutely perfect and with special touches that you don't get in any 5* places we have stopped. Will definitely be back. Richard and Mandy are brilliant hosts.

The cottage was absolutely ideal for us. Perfect location, very quiet ,idyllic. The hosts Mandy and Richard were very kind and friendly. The kitchen was fully equipped and having a washing machine was very useful for us, having returned from a 3 week holiday. Melton Mowbray is only 2 miles away which was handy for shopping etc.

The location and the grounds of the cottage were superb, with a seating area on the deck to the rear of the cottage overlooking rolling countryside, as well as a garden room for cooler times. The cottage had everything we needed: a cosy lounge, beamed bedroom with a very comfortable bed, small dressing area and an immaculate bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped with a tall fridge freezer, enabling us to store the pies we had made (and extras we'd purchased) at a fun pork pie workshop run by Brockleby's Pies in Melton Mowbray. I have to comment on the beautiful tubs and gardens all around the grounds, all planted by Richard, and the very friendly reception and great tips we received from Mandy.

Exceptional property with amazing countryside views. The property has been created with the best quality in mind - bed linen, towels, bed, furniture…. A choice of three smart tv’s and a large Amazon Echo provided great entertainment choices but there was also games, books etc. The garden room was also a lovely extra space. The hosts were also friendly and welcoming and provided Danish pastries and other goodies as well as a well stocked kitchen with herbs, sauces etc.

A better dining area would be nice as the breakfast bar in the kitchen was not ideal for us but may well be perfect for you. We just took the garden bistro set (lightweight) into the garden room & ate our evening meals in there. Everything else….. perfect!

A beautiful property, set in a gorgeous scenic location. Paddock Cottage delivered on the romantic stay with a comfy and luxuorius stay. We had a weekend of good food and cosy nights in front of the log fire.
