Hôtel de la Poste

I loved the rainshower! There is a lounge area with local drinks available, which was very nice to relax before heading out for dinner. The owner was extremely helpful and helped us fix a problem we had with our bike lock that got stuck.

Breakfast was nice and had a reasonably large selection of sweet & savoury items, yet certain items ran out and weren't replaced, like the scrambled eggs could have been topped up in my opinion. We arrived towards the end of the breakfast time (which goes from 8h-10h) though.

Wonderful and cosy hotel. Nice and friendly lady in charge of the hotel - and a fine breakfast buffet. The town of Ellezelles calls itself the birth town of Hercule Poirot, and they have a statute of the Belgian detective next to the church two minutes walk from the hotel. The museum (currently closed for renovation) also has a copy of the birth certificate of Poirot: born the 1st of April 1850 :-)

Great location for us as we were taking part in the We Ride Flanders cycling event in Oudenaard and watching the Ronde van Vlaanderen. The village has a surprising number of high quality shops and bars that allowed us to eat and drink well in the evenings. We were well looked after by our hosts who were enthusiastic (but not intrusive) about their hotel and what we were doing during our time with them. We left too early for breakfast one morning but the hosts were happy for us to stock their fridge with our own breakfast items, which was good.

Goed voor een verblijf van 1 nacht. Het bed was comfortabel, maar we hadden 's nachts veel last van muggen omdat er geen muggenraam voorzien was. De badkamer is ondermaats met een zeer kleine lavabo, zonder ruimte om je producten te zetten. Dat is een lavabo voor een toilet, niet voor een badkamer. De douche is helemaal open, waardoor de vloer van de badkamer nat wordt.
