Historic Salyards Mansion by Heirloom Boutique Collection

The property was not maintained on the outside of the mansion. The grounds were unkempt. The front looks nice from a distance but needs repairs, paint and landscaping was awful. Talked with two other guests who were moved to the carriage house because of a mix up in reservations. Carriage house did not meet their expectations. Would not have Orbitz recommended this property.

The coffee and pastry service was really poorly done. There were no instructions for heating or air conditioning usage. Everything was very average. Nothing to make me want to go back.

This is the second time staying here and it was even better than the first. A first class operation and accommodation.

The house has charm; it’s not just a place to stay in Duluth but it’s a whole experience; they really pay attention to details; the staff is extremely nice! I would definitely stay at this property again and I highly recommend it!!! Enjoy Duluth!!!

We were so lucky with this find. Beautiful property and house. Very clean and comfortable room. I was concerned that it wouldn’t have modern needs, but we had a nice TV with Roku, small fridge, coffee pot, microwave, and many awesome things like a bag of microwaveable popcorn, coffee, shampoo, body wash, etc. The rear parking lot was great. The location was really quiet and we heard nothing all night. Great place—would absolutely stay again

Very clean, room is charming. A couple suggestions-there should be a chair by front door to put shoes on or take off since there is a no shoes in house rule. The balcony French door in Hewitt suite needs to be sanded and repainted-I actually cut my finger on rough paint. Breakfast snack is lacking. There at 8 AM and only 5 small pastries left. Only coffee or tea, no juice at all. No napkins either. Definitely overall disappointing and not worth what is being charged!

The exterior could use some TLC, but overall, our stay was very nice.

Wonderful old house, the room decor fits the style of the home, it’s older but well taken care of. The house and the rooms have so much character and everything was very clean. We stayed in the Edwin Hewitt room and loved it. The clawfoot bathtub is cute, the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. We loved the balcony, we started our morning out there enjoying the coffee and pastries and ended our evening sitting outside. We would definitely come back.
