Occidental Tanger

Terrible service and experience EVER. I complained to the hotel and receive unbelievable reply from GM, even GM doesn’t introduce his/her name. Photo is attached. Firstly, While I’m wiping my body which means NAKED, housekeeping lady just opens the room door and drop bath towel which we didn’t ask. We were shocked and scared, this is an unbelievable and unacceptable situation. Secondly, I don’t expect hospitality but there was not even normal service. Reception was the worst, I don’t remember her name, the glasses lady with teeth bracelet called Solly or Sally whatever. I just wanted to have 2 forks so called In-room dining and asked, however, they didn’t make it happen. Following up on this myself, I called to Front desk instead and the lady asked me to ask to the In-room dining, also advised me other number then I called. However, I was told that I need to talk to In-room dining…it’s doesn’t make any sense this back and forth so I went to the Front desk and directly ask help. Also wanted to talk to manager. Despite, the lady's answer was; no manager available, you’re telling me, and I don’t have fork here. …It’s speechless, basically, the lady is delivering to me that this is not my business. I understand the staff don’t speak English much, especially the situation of forks, but the situation of opening the room door during NAKED was totally unacceptable ruining privacy and safety.

We stayed in a junior suite with our family (three young children) and had a great experience. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable — perfect for a family stay. The location was ideal, within walking distance to the sea and close to a nice park where the kids could play. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was tasty and varied. Highly recommended for families!

Très bon hôtel que je recommande

Hôtel tout neuf style contemporain avec une super piscine. Et à dix minutes de la mer à pied Au bout de la corniche. A dix minutes en taxi de la médina. Un arrêt (casa harris)pour la visite de Tanger se trouve à 10 minutes à pied avec Tanger city tours.les billets s’achètent aussi dans le bus qui prisent deux parcours Pratique pour visiter la ville . Personnel de l’hôtel accueillant et l’hôtel et extrêmement bien entretenu. Les prix sont relatifs à ceux pratiqués en France. Cuisine influence espagnole pour la carte avec une présentation au top et des mets délicieux Hôtel groupe Barcelo. Merci pour votre accueil j’ai passé un super séjour

Amazing Hotel, shame pool was closed for maintenance

Staff is wonderful and room is amazing. Very comfortable bed. Restaurant was outstanding and the waiter was first class!!

I stayed in the hotel for a week and it was amazing. The room was silent, non smoking and cleaned every day. Keep in mind you shouldn’t leave too late or housekeeping may not come to your room. If you do leave late, make sure to let reception know so you can come back to a fresh room. Overall an amazing experience and will definitely look for Barceló hotels on the next trip

Leuke locatie, mooi hotel en fijne personeel. Iedereen was superlief en vriendelijk. Ook Doha de manager, de dames en heren van de receptie. Enige nadeel was dat het zwembad in reparatie was en wij er dus geen gebruik van konden maken. Terwijl we het hotel hadden geboekt vanwege het zwembad. We kregen een upgrade in de kamers, maar wel zonder airco. Er is maar 1 gedeelte van het gebouw wat airco heeft. Dus uiteindelijk kwamen Doha en de personeel met opnieuw andere kamers. We waren uiteindelijk wel tevreden, maar ik was ook erg teleurgesteld.

Property is nice, rooms are sensible and clean. However their charges for any additional service are a complete rip off. And their service is dreadful. For example, they wouldn’t call us a taxi to go to the airport. They offered their shuttle instead at 5x the price!! Also we arrived early at the hotel, and, even though the room was ready, they wanted to charge by the hour for early check in. They charged full price for the breakfast buffet, but when we had breakfast at 9 am, most of the hot dishes were empty. Ridiculous.
