Grianaig Guest House & Restaurant, South Uist, Outer Hebrides

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at this truly lovely place. The decor is high-end, as is the attention to detail, all carefully planned to ensure a very comfortable stay for their guests in luxurious rooms. The breakfast was really exceptional. The hosts also provide the service of evening meals and we were disappointed not to have been able to try those - our loss as we were elsewhere that evening. They also provided quality hot drinks and home bakes and the option of a tipple at night from a well-stacked range of drinks - an honesty box system was in place for the latter. We wished we could have stayed longer! This is a great excuse to return to South Uist. Highly recommended, this is one of the very best places we have had the pleasure of staying in, and we've stayed in many. Thank you to the hosts and congratulations on all your hard work to create an absolute gem of a guest house which will be hard to match.

The hosts worked hard to ensure a high standard of hospitality. We loved being told about the owls.

The lighting in the room was very stylish, although with style winning out over efficiency. We found the lighting so dim that reading in the room was almost impossible (even with our best glasses!). As guests (and this is true of most people we speak to) we would rather have effective lighting even if it is less stylish - although we appreciate the intent.

Lovely location and very easy to find. The bedroom and bathroom are exceptional and finished to an excellent standard. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. The garden is host to some lovely flora and fauna, including wild orchids and a variety of birds. The surroundings are beautiful. The hosts could not have been nicer and the dinner was exceptional and not to be missed. A real joy to stay here

Nothing was not to like.

Chris and Carla have an excellent set up and clearly know their business well. They were pleasant and knowledgeable and are serious about their food. Anyone using this B+B should definitely go for the evening meal. Delicious. Full marks for a lovely visit

EVERYTHING!! Superb!

The owners had put a lot into the design, including a large open plan kitchen, which was superb especially when watching the chef at work.
