Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som

For a 1st wellness resort in the middle east.. quite, variety of healthy food, cleanses, diffrent activities, pleasant staff , tea, honey, ladies helath club was amazing , public pool was amazing

-location its so far from the airport -Prices of transportations are too high from airport to the resort 1000 QAR! -No available uber to reach! -There is no available kiosk for snacks apart of what in the room -Whenever we ask for a gulf car it takes 15-30 mins to reach -AC's were hot at the beginning -Timing of the restaurants closing was too early -Activity receptionist not always there and the office is empty whenever we escort it

I liked everything - premises, staff, cuisine, healthy approach, attention to detail and individual needs.

I would enjoy having a mixed spa to spend time with family but I understand it doesn’t meet the concept.

The health guidance and the physiotherapist was exelent and above my expectations. The spa and the fact that they have two private women only pools indoors and outdoors , the salt room and the ice room. The sunset view from the beach deck. The garden design and the yellow flowers tree (sea hibiscus) all over thae palce.

The building design gave me an unhappy feeling, I understand that the design is made to reduce heat and energy but it wasn't a smart designe, there was a lack of light in most of the indoor areas. They didn't consider the sea view while designing the whole resort , non of the rooms had a sea view , the over all feeling of the place was not comfortable.

The staff was amazing !! The facilities were luxurious and clean and everything is so well managed . There are a lot of treatments to choose from it blew my mind . So many highly experienced professionals.I loved it

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Zulal Resort, and it was an incredible experience. The resort is perfect for relaxation, offering a serene environment that allows you to unwind completely. The food at Zulal Resort is outstanding and truly deserves 3 Michelin stars. Every meal was a culinary delight, and the variety and quality were impeccable. The staff at Zulal Resort are exceptional. They are attentive, friendly, and go above and beyond to ensure your stay is memorable. Their professionalism and warmth made a significant difference in our experience. I highly advise everyone to arrive early to take full advantage of the amazing activities available. The resort offers a wide range of activities, and their specialists can create a personalized program that suits anyone’s interests and needs. Overall, Zulals Resort is a fantastic destination for anyone looking to relax and indulge in luxury. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Beautiful Resort with a great architecture and which is very well maintended. The staff is very friendly. On arrival you take part in a tea ceremony which is very hospitable when you arrive somewhere. The gym and spa is very nice - they even have a nice ice room after sauna which is beautiful with some snow inside. The beach chairs are very comfortable. They wash 3 pieces of clothes everyday free of charge which I think is very nice when you travel around.

You get a booking confirmation for 60 Minutes of massage for everyday. When you arrive they tell you that it is only 50 Minutes long. And when you get the treatment it lasts for 45 minutes. So the confirmation and what you get is a big difference. My first massage should have started at 7 pm and I was there at 6:50 pm already. Every 5 minutes I was told that the massage will start in 2 minutes. It started at 7:25 pm which is not bad. But always telling you that it will shortly start and then it doesn't is not nice for the guest. The food is maybe very healthy - but I had never had so bad tasting food in my whole life. It tasted so awful bad. The only thing that is really good and can be eaten is the scrambled egg. Every other thing doesn't taste at all. When you arrive you can not go to your room - you first have a talk to a therapist which is a bit weird. And I did not know that. The conversation was nice and I learned something. But it is a bit weird when you are not expecting that. The resort is located at a beach but the sea is 90 % of the time not there due to tide. And when the sea is there you cannot swim because it is only some centimeters deep. The sand on the beach is very hard and not soft like for example in Doha or on the west coast of qatar. So the beach is really not nice at all. The concept is great when you want to loose weight or have mental problems- not for vacation. They even give you a pyjama for using inside the resort. For me it felt like a sanatorium. I never felt so out of place in my life before and I traveled around the whole world already and been to some hundred (maybe almost 1.000 hotels as I travel since 45 years) hotels around the world. This was my worst hotel experience ever.
