Loch Views Apartment Sleeps 2-Pets Ok-Free Parking

Key box for access worked fine. The view was great, pint of milk left in the fridge for a cuppa on arrival and the apartment had all required for a good stay inclusive of iron/board, fridge, oven, utensils, kettle etc.

The entrance to the rear of building was very dark and uninviting with peeling paint and a very strong smell of urine, however loved the way they tried to mask the smell with three air fresheners in the foyer. On entry, we offloaded our luggage into the bedroom, which seemed fine and made our way into the living room to enjoy a bit of tv after our twelve hour drive. We found a very dirty sofa which I wouldn't let a dog use, this put us in a foul mood and then to make thinks worse the TV DID NOT WORK, tried all to correct the issue but could only get sound with a very intermediate flicking picture ! I know we were only charged £60 per night but elsewhere in the country i can get a room in say premier or travel lodge for about the same and its clean. Both myself and partner were very upset at the poor housekeeping, so decided to book another apartment 16 miles away in Carredale for an additional £245, very much out of pocket but couldn't stay any longer than necessary. Stayed 1 day out of three and will be requesting a refund from the host. Could not understand the good reviews, how could the issues above not be raised ? Would not recommend.

Great location in Dalintober, Campbeltown, right beside Dalintober beach, with view out over Campbeltown loch and over to Davaar. Handy for everything in the town centre including buses. Very economical, good value. Great views from sitting room. Great location for cold water swimmers - the loch is literally across the road. Parking available nearby on street. Walking distance to town centre, Tesco, Co-op, cafes etc.

Communal entrance and rest of building felt a bit sketchy; kitchen needing a 'do' - oven/grill either very, very slow or not working, solid plate rings rusted; kitchen cupboard handles rusted, fridge leaking, wifi code in email not correct (although correct code was found in flat); no teapot or egg cups or serving dishes or ladle. Blind in bedroom very odd, not very functional. With a bit of a re-do the flat could be super quirky and cute. Probably best suits people who don't want to cook.

When you first approach the property from the rear it's not obvious how you gain access to the flat - you need to go through the doorway on the left-hand side of the building into a close and then up a flight of stone steps to the first floor. The flat is small but well laid out with everything a single person or couple needs for a comfortable week's stay. Cooking facilities including a microwave, electric oven and hob are provided but if you don't fancy preparing meals yourself there's an excellent chippie nearby (the Chip Off the Old Block) but get there early because the queue is likely to be lengthy. The flat is located at the front at Campbeltown and in good weather you can enjoy a fantastic view from the large lounge window across Campbeltown Loch - it was lovely to watch the boats coming and going and see the sun rising behind Davaar Island. I recommend the walk to Davaar Island along the Dhorlinn at low tide which was one of the highlights of my holiday along with a sail on the Waverley along the Kintyre coast and around the Sanda Islands. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely return in the future.

There was constant TV noise emanating from one of the neighbouring flats throughout the night so I had to resort to buying silicone ear plugs from the small Boots store in Campbeltown (neither Tesco nor the Co-op stocks ear plugs). Also the fridge freezer leaks constantly so I kept having to mop up the resulting small puddles under the fridge door. Because the flat is essentially an attic space, sections of the ceilings in each of the rooms slope so tall folk will need to take care around these- I'm fairly short so this wasn't a particular problem for me.

Top floor of an older building so slanted ceilings was a little awkward for my tall husband at times.

Approach to the property disturbing. Unfortunately parts of property were unclean and dated.

Location was perfect and the view exceptional. Price of stay great. Very quiet and a comfortable bed. Everything was included for self catering. Good WiFi. Host communication and access to apartment great.

Nothing really attention to detail could be addressed, bad fitted floor coverings, creaking floor boards, bathroom tiling. Access to building not inviting. Wouldn't stop me booking again.
