Hotel Soleil Ha Long, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

Highly recommend, lovely staff, comfortable rooms and in a great area. No need to look any further! The location is also an asset: right in front of Sun World, very convenient to visit the city and far from Bai Chay Beach just 01 km We arrived during a very bad storm and very nervous but The staff at this hotel are helpful and lovely. They are professional and attentive. Especial Bell man(Duc ) , receptionist (Truong and Huyen , Thang ) Breakfast is excellent and change everyday The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. We will back next time.

Everything was closed—the spa, the rooftop bar. We went to the restaurant the first night, and it took over 30 minutes just to get our drinks. They were out of nearly everything, then another 30 minutes passed before anyone came to take our order. It took about 45 minutes to get our food, and when it finally came, it tasted so bad we took one bite, paid the bill, and left to find food elsewhere. We wanted to book spa treatments, but the spa was closed. The staff mentioned the rooftop bar, so we went to check it out and relax with a drink—but that was closed too. Overall, it was completely overpriced and didn’t come close to what you’d expect from a 4- or 5-star hotel.

I have never written a negative review on TripAdvisor before. My account has always been used to share positive experiences and recommend wonderful stays. However, after what happened at Hotel Soleil Ha Long, I feel obligated to speak up, which is not out of frustration, but in hopes that the hotel seriously reflects on its operations and guest service. I arrived at the hotel at 4:15 PM, having made a reservation the night before at 11:00 PM. Shockingly, the front desk had no record of my booking and even asked if I had just made it upon arrival. Despite me showing a full confirmation with booking code, I was told that my reservation had “just appeared” in their system. I was in a rush to leave for a cruise by 5:00 PM, and this careless attitude left me stressed and confused. Even when my booking was finally found, I was told the twin room I had reserved was not clean, and I was asked if I could stay in a king room instead. I was genuinely upset, I had booked a twin room well in advance and arrived after standard check-in time. There was no excuse for my room not being ready. Eventually, they offered a “free upgrade” to a bay view twin room, but that was far from comforting when I found the mirror dirty with fingerprints, the floor dusty, and the bathrobe with a broken hanging loop. After my cruise, I left a complaint with the front desk, who said it would be reported to the manager. I waited. But no one followed up, not even during check-out. No apology, no explanation, no service recovery. Worse, I later found a used tweezer left on the sofa, another sign of extremely poor housekeeping. I had also requested a late check-out at around 1:30 PM (which the staff agreed to), yet at 11:20 AM, I received a call urging me to check out, AT 11:20 AMMM =))) I had been waken up. It was clear that internal communication between departments was disorganized and unreliable. (My special request before check in are HighFloor and QUIET room because I am a light sleeper and my room is located on 8th out of 25th floor, but it's fine when you compared to other problems) This entire experience made me lose trust in the hotel’s standards from Front Office, to Housekeeping, to Reservations. It’s disheartening, especially since this property is under the Wyndham, which I previously associated with much higher quality. I truly wish I didn’t have to write this review. But I believe that constructive criticism is also a way to help hotels improve. I sincerely hope Hotel Soleil Ha Long takes this feedback seriously, because guests deserve better.
