JOIVY at VITA Fountainbridge - Adults only

This is a good value compared to some of the other hotels in the area. It is a student dormitory that is turned into a pop up hotel in the summer. The name of the hotel does not appear anywhere so travels should just look for the Vita building. The ground floor lounge and breakfast areas are fantastic. The studio rooms are modern and clean with good amenities including a small kitchen. The biggest downside is there is no ventilation and the small window does little to help so my room was very warm. I ended up solving the problem by purchasing a fan during my stay which was then fine. They should really furnish all of the rooms with fans. Housekeeping is not as good as a hotel as it seems to only happen on certain days and my room was never cleaned in 3 days. Otherwise, this is a good value and does fine for a stay as long as one doesn't need a full feature hotel.

Hotellet virker til å være drevet av studenter, selv om de fleste var hyggelig og imøtekommende så var det naturlig nok store mangler på organisering og kompetanse, eksempelvis rundt frokosten som bare var kaos og det var tomt for det meste hele tiden. Rommet virket til å være ok vasket den ene dagen noen hadde vært innom, men sengetøyet var flekkete og man måtte be om nytt. Ellers var sengen totalt forferdelig, ekstremt hard og liten selv om det var dobbelseng var det ikke plass til 2 voksne mennesker.

This was an amazing place to stay. Beautiful room, friendly staff and the location was perfect, just a 17 minute walk to the royal mile. Highly recommend 👌.

Zimmer war nicht sauber. Frühstück keine Abwechslung . Kein Room Service. Wasserschäden an den Decken. Fenster und Türen undicht

Es handelt sich um ein Apartment-Haus für Studenten. Die Aussstattung der Küchenzeile ist spartanisch, 1Pfanne, 1 Topf, ein bisschen Geschirr und Besteck, ein Toaster und ein Wasserkocher. Alles war mit einem Schmierfilm überzogen. Lappen oder Abtrockentücher gibt’s nicht, aber in den Check out-Richtlinien steht, dass man am letzten Tag alles abwaschen soll. Es gibt einen Mülleimer, der mitten im Zimmer steht. Im Bad gibt’s keinen Papierkorb. Das Apartement wird nicht gesäubert. Das Frühstück ist sehr einfach und obwohl es bis 10.00 Uhr geht, ist schon lange vorher kaum noch was da. Aufgefüllt wird nur Brot. Auch einen Platz zu finden ist schwierig. Ich habe die Interkunfz nur wegen der Nähe zum Castle gebucht. Sie war völlig überteuert für das, was man bekommt. Ich rate ab.

We arrived at the 'hotel' checked in at 5 p.m. we were given the room card, on arrival at the room, the card did not open the door. We asked a room service person to let us in, the bed was bare, no bed clothes, no kettle, no chair, I spoke to reception, after a lot of messing around the door entry was fixed, the bed was made, I had to request a kettle a second time, the kettle arrived and tea bags and coffee sachets were just dumped in the kitchen area. The bed was very uncomfortable, no chair was provided during the stay. Breakfast comprised of cooked meats and boiled eggs, bread was provided but the toasters were not up to scratch, the bread had to be toasted 3 times to get any colour on it, this left it dry and rubbery, the rolls were stale, very poor. Access to the reception area was via the room key at the entrance, this was hit and miss, working when it felt like. This place is student accommodation, and is very basic, it is not advertised as such. Doors are heavy and are continually banging during the day and night.

Clean, good sized room. Good location. Basic breakfast but plenty of local places - Loudon opposite excellent.

Wer ein Hotel erwartet, wird verärgert sein. Zu recht! Denn so wird das Hotel im Internet angepriesen...Der Service war lau, das Bett zu klein für Zwei, das Frühstück ziemlich mies...nasses Geschirr, harte Brötchen, nach 1 Stunde Frühstückszeit war vieles leer und wurde auch nicht aufgefüllt, keine Eier, viel zu wenig Konfitüre, keine Auswahl an Obst (nur Körbe voll Äpfel), zu wenige Sitzplätze, die Tische wurden in der ganzen Frühstückszeit nicht einmal abgewischt....und nebendran die Waschmaschinen, vor denen die dreckige Wäsche lag...für uns nicht wieder...habe etwas besseres erwartet, war aber zu all den noch teureren Hotels die einzige Alternative.
