"Ok I guess"

5.0

Location was quiet, no light pollution, relaxing and nice views.

We got to our room and the door was unlocked. There were tiny roaches all over the walls in the bathroom, one even crawled on me while sleeping the first night. Jets in the tub didn’t work - not a big deal, I don’t take baths. The towels they left smelled like mildew. In the pamphlet it says complimentary 1 free coffee per night of stay, when we went to the center to get ours, we both got charged for it even though we did everything besides poor the coffee into the cup. Just not what I expected overall. I understand it’s rural and some bugs will be there but roaches all over the shower? No thank you.

"Loved it, remote but beautiful "

10.0

It is a very beautiful setting and the grounds are extremely lovely cultivated Hawaiian gardens. We saw a wild pig the first day we were there with her two little babies. Our hut was decorated in a Chinese theme and a ceramic dragon overlooked our room keeping us safe at night. The room is a little aged and a few things are rusty from the sea air, which I'm assuming is unavoidable due to how close it is to the ocean. It is slightly rustic accommodations, meaning there is window with screens for airflow rather than air conditioning. But there is a full bathroom and a kitchen without any cooking capabilities. But a sink and cupboards with the basics stocked and a fridge and microwave. You can see the ocean from the bed and you can hear the crashing waves day and night. There is bird song all day and bugs join in at night. It was very peaceful and quiet. We were able to go to a black sand beach nearby that was beautiful but had powerful rough waves and we saw about 20 dolphins jumping and playing in the water. There was a specific type of people in the area, a sort of new age hippie thing going on. The black sand beach nearby is a clothing optional beach but we went in the morning and everyone was clothed. But if yoga, vegan, pagan vibes are your vibes, this place is the spot. Very beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. Also quite remote, so be aware. Not much in the form of amenities. There is an outdoor shower that was really cool to use.

It is a beautiful, peaceful place. Our cottage was perfect. The sounds of the birds, the star viewing at night & the lush landscape was amazing!

The property itself was great. There were gardens everywhere with lots of plants and animals singing in the morning and evening. The porch outside had a nice view. The property was very quiet and you can definitely relax. The location was good, right along the coast, but probably a bit out of the way if you want to check out the Volcano National Park or other tourist sites.

About half of the things in the cottage didn't work. There were lots of light bulbs around, but only about half were in working order, so it was a bit dimmed inside, and we had no light on the back porch. There was a bath, but jets weren't working. There was an outside sink, which would have been great to wash the dirt off our boots after hiking but it didn't work either.

"Superb"

The stay felt very authentic and I would opt for this over a big resort any day. I was shocked at how clean the place was considering a lot of the room was screened in (I expected more bugs and I didn't see any).

The stay is very out of the way and required some length drives to get anywhere notable on the island. Also, the key to my door was missing for the whole stay (which wasn't an issue when I was in the room and could lock the door myself) which left me a bit concerned when I left for the day and had all of my stuff in the room.
