The Drake Hotel is a great hub from which to explore Plymouth. The free parking offered by the hotel is a real bonus and every attraction is within walking distance, which meant our weekend stay was blissfully car-free and we more than managed a daily 10k footstep count as we meandered about and visited The Box for the Beryl Cook exhibition . The breakfasts were excellent and the staff, without exception, accommodating and friendly.

Friday and Saturday nights in Plymouth - particularly in the Barbican area -are, to say the least, bustling and at times clamorous. The Drake Hotel's proximity to the Barbican meant that night-time revellers, on foot and in cars, frequently passed by... which was not conducive to uninterrupted sleep. Having said that, the weekend of our stay turned out to be some kind of annual pirate festival and spirits were high - so it wasn't, probably, a typical weekend.

All staff were excellent and friendly. Would book again if in Plymouth.

very good location of the room, very clean, everything is nicely prepared, no problems with check-in, even late, people are very welcoming, standard English classic breakfast, very good coffee, as much as you want, thanks to this huge hotel, and parking is not a problem

Very clean the staff were very helpful and the breakfast was great

we were expecting a room on the ground floor but had to go up a few stairs which made it a bit difficult as I had to carry a rollater up and it was hard for my wife io manage

It was all very good , if I ever go back to Plymouth I will chose the Drake hotel again .
