Eco Nubia

We had a lovely stay at Eco Nubia - Mohammed and his team could not have been any more helpful! He helped us with everything we asked - from food to booking taxis and boat trips - all done quickly, efficiently and with a smile. The location is lovely and really quiet especially when we were there. The rooms were rustic but we were expecting this - if you are looking for modern luxury Eco Nubia is not the place for you, but it is very clean and comfortable. The opportunity to swim in the Nile was also a highlight - it appeared clean, although we didnt actively drink it! - and there are no crocodiles between the dams. We also enjoyed exploring the little island and visiting their farm where a lot of the food we ate must have been grown.

More simple breakfasts - while we liked the huge Nubian food offerings we got daily, we could never eat it all and sometimes just some toast and an egg would have sufficed.

The location and view of Philae Temple is absolutely stunning! All the transfers were flawless, Boat and Car. Some of the best food I’ve had abroad. Nubian in style. The staff tried hard and were friendly. I loved meditating at the hall at the top of the hill overlooking the temple.

This property has the ability to be a top notch resort experience. Drawbacks are that it needs a good cleaning. Broken chairs and tables are strewn around the property and garbage has accumulated in the river water areas. It needs some landscaping. The chairs and umbrella at the beach area need to be thrown out and replaced. Wi-Fi only in the restaurant and it wasn’t very good. The beds are futon style and severely sunken. Without the fluffy blankets that I could sleep on I would’ve not been able to sleep on those beds.

Un endroit magique devant le temple de Philae Un vrai repos, un décor parfait, nous avons adoré notre séjour.

Café nubien et repas typiques nubiens excellents. Chambres typiques et agréables. Personnel très agréable. Cadre très agréable avec vue sur le temple de Philae.

Eden is a wonderful 'jewel' on the Nile: its name sums up everything! This little haven located on the east bank, a little way out of town, was a super boost to our 'batteries' after a number of days 'on the road' visiting temples, tombs and pyramids. Our welcome was SO friendly we felt that our hosts were family members greeting us and making our stay as comfortable as possible. The bedrooms(airy and calm)and ensuite facilities were excellent; everything fresh and clean. The terraces had space to relax and enjoy the tranquility; mango trees planted some years ago gave shade and the small pool was just right for the girls to unwind and 'chill'. Supper and breakfast on the terrace above the Nile waters were idyllic; so wonderfully prepared and served under evening lighting. Our group of eight; grandparents, parents and teenage girls, took the four terrace rooms and we felt that we had discovered our own 'Garden of Eden' THANK YOU!!

Leaving Eden after such a short stay! (we vowed to go back! Which we did two days later to spend the afternoon there and sail in the felucca around the bird filled islands opposite!)
