Overall gorgeous house, perfect location for sunset and very accessible from Lake Toya. Japanese style house, with tatamis mats. Very comfortable, clean and all amenities. Wifi was very fast.

Unfortunately, beams are about 1.80m high so walking head down in the property :-)

Location was great (you need a car though), as the views were stunning! I liked the exclusivity. Property was also sufficiently large for a bigger group and well-stocked with kitchen supplies, toiletries, extra pillows/sheets. There was also a bunch of toys which my son truly enjoyed playing with.

This might sound odd but I found it just a bit spooky at night. The property is rather oddly shaped; toilet area is quite far from the main area. And there are these weird doors that open to nothing/ remain locked. I suppose this would be great for a large group as it affords privacy. The toilet tub had an extremely strong chemical smell. Something like a cross between a strong cleaning soap and bleach. There’s also a very strong deodorant used in the toilet/loo area. Yes I get that it’s an air freshener, but the smell is really strong and artificial. Feels more like indoor air pollution. There was also a note next to the toilet paper that guests should go and purchase their own paper should they run out. Mind you, only two toilet rolls were provided. If this were a large group, there would definitely be insufficient paper. For the price of the property, this felt like a rather petty thing to expect of guests. The double bed mattress was also EXTREMELY soft. It was not a good mattress by Japanese standards.

Great house condition, unbeatable view! We had spent a really memorable time there.

We had a little problem with the heaters in bedrooms but the staff helped us solved the problem very quickly and nicely!

Beautiful home with ample space and great for kids. I loved the shower room which was warm and smelled like cedar. My 6’ tall husband fit in the big stone tub just fine. View is lovely. The house is not within walking distance to much so expect to drive. An earlier review mentioned that the main bed was very hard, but I think the owner remedied this because we found it to be very comfortable. We found the kitchen to be quite well stocked, and it comes with instant coffee, olive oil, and soy sauce.

A few more kitchen implements like a coffee maker would be nice

Great sunset view from the balcony. Cozy and comfortable Japanese family setting. It’s special experience to foreign visitors like us.

Probably because the house is surrounded by nature, there are some bugs on windows and therefore they sometimes get in the house.
