Independence Stay

2nd year we have stayed at this property. Easy access to everything you need. Staff is great and room is alway nice.

While this establishment was clean and quiet it did not have breakfast and the design of the room sometimes didn’t make sense. Outlets not in convenient places for charging phones, etc. I would stay again, we had no issues.

Nice spacious room. Everything was in working order and clean.

Wonderful hotel with new amenities!

Spacious. Clean. Easy in and out.

This hotel is fairly new and very clean. They said you don't get breakfast, but they did offer a small selection of breakfast items.

We didn’t have a car so we were grateful there was a restaurant we could walk to. We came to the UP for a family vacation. We flew in, arriving about 7 PM. The rental car office closes at 5 PM, long before either of the two flights from Chicago arrive. Uber and Lyft just perpetually spun “looking for driver“. We did finally get a hold of a taxi driver who took us back to the airport to pick up our car. The hotel didn’t make it any easier. They said there was nowhere they could store our luggage so that we wouldn’t have to take it back to the airport to pick up our car and they would charge us $25 to check out one hour late. I won’t be coming back to the UP.

Everything was super.clean from the lobby to the room! Staff was polite and efficient. We go up to the UP every year for vacation and we will stay at the Independence from now on everytime. Super impressed with that hotel!
