The staff was friendly and welcoming met all of our needs

The staff was very friendly! Everyone spoke and seemed happy to be there! House keeping did a wonderful job in cleaning both the rooms and the common areas.

The beds felt like rocks sitting on top of bricks. Very springy. Our backs felt shattered every morning. The food was definitely subpar and lacking flavor. All of the drinks seemed to be very watered down. I’m not a heavy drinker but for me to have taken three to four shots and had about 6 mix drinks and not even touch my stopping point was a bit concerning. It’s an all inclusive so I didn’t have high expectations but however I’ve traveled to other parts of Mexico and stayed at other Riu resorts that made this stay bottom of the list for us. The excursions were some what fairly priced up front but there was always extra money that had to come out of pocket when leaving for the excursions. These were sold by the company on the property Scrubacribe. They were a bit misleading as well. Paid over $200 for an excursion where we would ride our own speed boats and see beautiful blue water on an island with so many different animals such as flamingo, gators, and other wildlife only to get there and drive a speed boat in swamp green water, arrive on a part of a beach in the middle of nowhere that was filled with the smell of poop and not one animal, bird, duck, fly, or anything insight. Only mosquitoes…which we could have to continue to enjoy for free at the resort. As for the speciality restaurants, the food was nothing to write home about. The servers would come and bring the initial drinks, come back after everyone’s glasses were empty and ask if a refill was wanted, all for you to say yes and never receive even a sip of a refill. The entertainment was so/so. The Riu parties weren’t even held at the resort but heavily advertised. They provided a bus for transport there which was over a 40 min ride and if you had no intentions on staying the entire time, well, you wouldn’t have had a choice because the workers told us they were short on transportation. Honestly the best part of this resort was the beach.

Se fue la luz en el sector y no cuentan con una plata eléctrica que suple los aires acondicionados. Dicen tener en el restaurante un código de vestuario pero hay personas que entran en chancletas y pantalonetas, ilógico! A mí no me dejaron pasar por llevar pantalon de lino, zapatos y camisilla. ( eran hallowen además ) Tocó pagar por ir a una fiesta donde todos los huéspedes pueden entrar gratis. Hay personal que necesita ser más cordiales con los huéspedes, amabilidad, cordialidad…
