Amazing location, friendly staff, wonderful food & wine.

Mario, the manager, and his staff are exceptional! Our experience started with a personal driver from the airport to the hotel. From there, we met Toma, who gave us a wonderful overview of Split, so we could start are tour of split with in-depth knowledge of where to go. The restaurant staff is extremely knowledgeable about Croatian wines, and the menu is filled with fresh local ingredients prepared exquisitely. Shout out to the manager Mario and his fiancé who are passionate about their jobs and go above and beyond to make their guests feel right at home.

Nothing, they stay was amazing.

We were 3 couples and staff met us as we disembarked from the Ferry, taking all our luggage and lead us to the hotel. The personalized service continued throughout the three days that we were at the hotel. No request went unanswered. The atmosphere is so positive that it becomes infectious. It is apparent that the staff loves to work at the hotel and the restaurant, no requests were too much for anyone By the end of our three days the whole group felt part of the Marakun family. We moved on to wonderful high end hotels in HVAR and Dubrovnik, but none came close to the service and atmosphere at Makarun Heritage Rooms. Location was super, steps away from everything a tourist would want to see. The Hotel/Restaurant is managed by Mario who is on site more than he’s at home. He makes your stay special. He knows his wine and hand picks the wine selection and oversees the hotel and restaurant to make sure your stay is exceptional. Mario and his staff are amazing!

There wasn’t one thing that my group disliked.

The service was fantastic – the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Extra shoutout to Toma🫡 They assisted us with our luggage to and from the taxi/bus station, gave excellent recommendations for restaurants and things to do in Split and the surrounding area, and always made us feel welcome. The breakfast, food, and drinks were also really good.

There was nothing we didn’t like – everything was great.

First of all hotel Makarun is not for everyone, if you do not like walking 500-700m, climbing stairs and be alone with your family at breakfast than look further. The room is not a conventional hotel room, for the first time I was able to sleep without hearing the central air conditioning noise that every hotel has. Room and toilet were the cleanest I have seen during our trip. Breakfast was good. But, the hotel's highlight were the personel, all were extremly friendly and helpful. Will certainly be back! Zunächst einmal ist das Hotel Makarun nicht jedermanns Sache. Wenn Sie nicht gerne 500-700 Meter laufen, Treppen steigen und beim Frühstück allein mit Ihrer Familie sein möchten, sollten Sie weitersuchen. Das Zimmer ist kein herkömmliches Hotelzimmer. Zum ersten Mal konnte ich ohne den nervigen Lärm der Klimaanlage schlafen, den jedes Hotel hat. Zimmer und Toilette waren die saubersten, die ich während unserer Reise gesehen habe. Das Frühstück war gut. Das Highlight des Hotels war jedoch das Personal. Alle waren äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Excellent location and apartment was lovely

Great Staff, fantastic location

The place is amazing really nice service and my host was Ivica how was very nice and super helpful .. the staff are incredible very friendly ..I didn’t have this kind of service in anywhere. Ivica and the other staff made my stay really comfortable.. I booked the room from 30-8-2025 tell 1-9-2025 the I extend my vacation 1 day more and they were full so Mario and Katarina arranged and suggested another place for me and Ivica helped me with all really heavy luggage ..and then I had a trip the other day in the early morning so he just took care of transferring my luggage to the Makarun room. so I finished my trip at 7 pm and went to the room and found all my luggage. المكان جداً حلو و مريح و العاملين بالمكان جدا خدومين و سهلوا قعدتي مناك .. ما شفت اي مكان عندهم مثل هذه الخدمة اللي فوق الممتازة

Nothing really.. but I booked the smallest room and the sink wasn’t inside the bathroom..but it didn’t bother me so if you want to have the sink inside the bathroom just book the bigger once and it is worth the price believe me.
