We loved our stay here. The owner responded immediately to any questions we had. It was a short walk to the convenience store and train station. The machiya had everything we needed, and we loved the quiet and privacy it offered over a hotel. We highly recommend it and would stay here again if we have the opportunity.

Absolutely amazing stay in such a unique property, loved it. It is a bit remote from the center but I think it gives it even more charm, we were able to experience the busy lifestyle Kyoto has to offer and go home for a nice night of peace and quiet in a beautiful setting.

距離丹波站電車走路約需要8-10分鐘非常方便且附近也都有超市或是便利商店。 住宿環境非常優雅且舒適，巷弄內也非常安靜，推薦前往京都旅行的人可以參考一家民宿。

Very clean and spacious. Highly recommend staying here for an authentic Japanese machiya experience.

Great little Old World stay with updated amenities. Be aware, there are three different houses with the same name. We stood outside one panicking for almost 15 minutes before realizing. Management was responsive, although it took about 20 minutes via email.

Everything was excellent

Very beautiful place to stay in central Kyoto that is near all the essentials such as the train station and convenience store. Was a bit unclear with some of the check-in instructions, but overall would highly recommend anyone visiting Kyoto to stay here.

It has a small garden and a big bath. Tatami floors. The place has a lot of potential

It was bug infested. There were spider webs everywhere. I slept in without realizing how bug infested it is and woke up with so many bites on my body. I have arachnophobia (fear of spiders) so i had to cut my stay short because of that. Also the place had an extremely overwhelming smell (like a dirty hamster cage) that would not go away. When i contacted the staff about the issues and showed them the pictures of my body and spiderwebs they said “spiders here are not venomous. These look more like mosquito bites” as if the issue was whether the spiders were venomous and not the fact that the place was filled with bugs and insects. They also mentioned that the smell is just the smell of the wood the house is made of. When i asked them to book a taxi for me so i can leave (i dont have a japanese number so i cant book online/over the phone) they refused and gave me a lame excuse about how there arent many taxis in this area so its better if i walk all the way to the main road (10~ minutes away) in the middle of the night and hope to find an empty taxi to hail at. I texted a friend in Osaka to book me a taxi and they did so i know the staff’s excuse was fake. I checked out earlier than my intended stay and went to another hotel but im already covered in bite marks all over. At least they issued a refund for the nights canceled (which i will receive in 7-12 days) This is the most regrettable thing ive done during my stay in Kyoto. It really ruined my trip since i had to break my budget to book a new hotel and deal with all the itchiness and annoyance im having.
