Its a room

My buddies and I drive through every couple weeks, for work, and have stayed a few times now. Great facilities, rooms are clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Solid choice for a stay.

My dad lives in Tomah, so we were hoping this might be a good place to stay while visiting him. The gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful - caring about whether or not we were comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, despite having to kinda rig the sliding shower door to stay shut. Beyond that, it went downhill. Breakfast was awful - HARD eggs (crunchy on the outside) and one lone sausage left at 9:10am. I could let that go, but the thing every kid looks forward to at a hotel is the pool...and theirs was FREEZING. The gentleman from our first night acknowledged it and upped the temp for us by a degree (all he could do, but it made it bearable and we had a great time swimming). The 2nd night, the power-tripped "supervisor" insisted it was state law to keep the pool in the freezing state it was in (don't lie about things that can be googled); she lied to my face. Then I was told by the "manager" at checkout that it was optimal for the chemicals. Funny - I've not experienced that at Holiday Inns before. Why have a pool at all if you're going to make it unusable? Why be in the hospitality industry if you don't care if your patrons feel welcome? I think she enjoyed the fact that one of my kids went to bed crying and I was irate (don't lie...tell me you're not allowed to raise it, but don't LIE). It's about a power trip and Holiday Inn saving money on an energy bill. We ALL know how much energy bills are, I get it, but it's not like they're not making money or couldn't spare ONE DEGREE for a couple of hours. I suspect the lady from the 2nd night was the same who wouldn't even look at the customer from a previous review because she also wouldn't look me in the eye until she went into her the spiel about the "law" with a disingenuous apology.

Will stay again

Shiny and new! Everything was spotless, smelled nice, and worked well. Free Wifi was a little tricky signing in, but the staff was helpful in that. Staff was so much better than I've experienced at hotels in a long time. Really enjoyed the stay. The breakfast was top of the charts for a hotel breakfast and better than many restaurants I've been too lately.

Nothing. Everything was a perfect as one could expect.

Booked and paid for multi bed suite, but didn't get one. Just a 2 queen bed room.

Staff was professional across the board from the minute we walked in until our departure. Check in was quick and Front Desk staff was quick and efficient. In the morning we got a late start as my oldest son wasn't feeling well. We got to breakfast right at the 9:30 A.M. closing time. The lady who was running breakfast not only kept it open for us but was welcoming and understanding.
