"Nice friendly pub & great location if you have an event at Newbury Showground."

A short drive from Newbury show ground which was perfect as I had a dog show there the next day hence the overnight stay. Very friendly, clean & dog friendly. Excellent home cooked food. Felt very safe being a female solo traveller.

Breakfast was fine, and was easy to sort everything. Location was great easy access to walking trails and local highways.

"Night at the swan inn"

The room was nice and light and the bed comfortable

Went down for meal at 6:30pm and didn't receive meal till 7:45,meal was nice but service was poor as there only seemed to be one person on the bar serving drinks and meals the poor girl was run off her feet

"Best to avoid party nights unless you're attending it."

The room was comfortable enough and it was in a very convenient location for our visit. The continental breakfast was basic, but better than nothing.

The bar was very busy on the Saturday night so it took over 10 minutes to get a key. Unfortunately there was a private party that night with loud music going on until 1am, and then the sounds of clearing up after that, so it wasn't a great night's sleep. We've stayed there midweek before and that was fine. The bathrooms look rather tired and in need of some basic but easy maintenance.
