Pelican Cove Inn

Not a fancy, upscale resort but a unique little Inn decorated with cute antiques and cozy furnishings…which we loved! Great location!…just a short walk to the beach or Carlsbad Village. We would definitely stay here again!

Cute little gem close to downtown and the beach

Great location & short walk into the main village area & beach. Nice terrace area at the top of the property, and quiet residential area (apart from ocean train honking its horn during the day, but I think that would be the case anywhere in the town!). The caretaker chap was very helpful when we arrived and continued to be throughout our stay.

Nothing really, apart from a hole in the window mesh that let in a wasp (which I proceeded to get stung by!)

I would definitely stay at this property again we had the Newport room which was right in front and it was amazing. The room was clean, and you could walk to the village in 3 mins. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property/area! 5 min walk from beach and 5-10 min to shops/restaurants! Quiet, peaceful, great amenities and lovely rooftop balcony sitting area.

Location; you can walk everywhere worth going in the village and two very short blocks to the beach. Comfy bed, plenty of towels, very quiet residential neighborhood- you may notice it’s close to the Coaster tracks but I never noticed and they do pass by regularly. Someone is on site if you need assistance. I used the washer and dryer in the utility room without being charged for it. Common lobby space with Keurig, pods & accoutrements plus some snacks. Great rooftop sitting area. They also had free-for-use Tommy Bahama beach chairs, sand toys if you have kids, & extra little items in the maintenance room, like pillows, blankets, and small fans. Ceiling fan in room too.

One night I had to double park but no one seemed to mind as I put a note on my windshield to knock on the door if they needed let out as there are 11 spaces and only 9 or 10 rooms and we’re all promised a free parking space but someone must have had an extra vehicle or visitor. Encountered a small (alive) scorpion in the shower but that can happen anywhere.

It was cozy clean lovely!! We will definitely be back!!

What a charming property with kind service, free parking & safe quiet street. A perk is beach chairs, umbrellas, soft cooler & beach towels. Coffee, tea, ice & water available 24/7.

Close proximity to downtown.

Our room was awful. The carpeting was so stained and the bed smelled like dog. The bathroom literally had a window open to another room’s front door and they could literally see in our bathroom. You can shut the blinds but there was no airflow whatsoever in the Carlsbad room. The parking is awful. It was the worst experience we’ve had in the three visits to this location. We won’t ever stay there again.
