"The best is the yoga program here"

7.0

The bungalow i stayed, front line sea view, was just perfect, spacious, clean, with a perfectly equipped bathroom. A few meters down and there is a small private beach. The best was of course yoga classes, excellent teachers, the best class i attended was held by the owner. Breakfast is tasty, although It is repetitive.

Upon arrival i was offered not a type of room i reserved; it was an older bungalow, but after 2,5 h of waiting i got second line bungalow. The descriptions on booking.com and classification on the hotel website are different, a bit confusing (in booking.com rooms are sea view or partial sea view, the hotel uses prana cabana and prana cabana plus). The restaurant dishes are not very nutritionally balanced, the ones i tried lacked protein sources, including plant sources, but for extra charge i got shrimps, which looked and tasted as if they were warmed up a couple of times. There is nothing around the hotel in a walking distance, to get to the nearest hotels on Silver Beach you have to walk on a busy road, which limits the things to do in the surroundings to almost zero.

"I’d visit again and make sure I visited the local beaches fisherman’s village and other places. It’s brilliantly located"

7.0

The yoga teaching is exceptional although I couldn’t connect with the teachers outside of the lesson. The property is thoughtfully designed. The rooms are comfortable. The life Cafe is exceptional in its food, location, staff and service.

Vikasa had incorrectly accepted my booking on booking.com and then advised those dates weren’t available I had to change my other bookings to for my yoga in and this spoiled plans for the next hotel. Vikasa did give me full board and a free massage to accommodate for this inconvenience. I found myself not able to freely visit the local area due to the timings of the yoga session at 5pm. The showers were not hot The staff were evasive and could not help with a personal matter which could have been easily dealt with, given the nature and ethos of Vikasa, I found myself to be anxious, and had to find ways to resolve it. The general manager avoided speaking with me and didn’t try to offer any ways of helping.

"Beautiful little haven of paradise"

9.0

I stayed here for 5 nights and honestly best decision I could have possible made! I decided after backpacking for 4 months that I should treat myself and give yoga a go, as I’d been highly anxious towards the end of my backpacking. This little haven was just wonderful. The staff, the room, the classes! I left feeling utterly relaxed, with a new found love for yoga. I am new to yoga and was really nervous I wouldn’t be able to do any of it but the classes are built so that all levels could participate and it did really feel like that. The instructors were really good at showing you all levels of practice, as often the classes were very varied with all types of experience levels. I really enjoyed the chill classes in the evening, doing yoga as the sun set to wind down and relax. I have to mention how delicious the food was but also how amazing the cafe staff were. As a solo female traveler I felt really cared for by them, they went above and beyond whenever they could & I really appreciated it. If you are considering booking this, book it!

The food & (mini bar in the room) was quite expensive in the cafe which I don’t mind paying for as it was such high quality food but often you had to pay extra to add any form of protein which is a shame as you are obviously going to want protein after a workout. Lots of stairs ! Be warned haha

"Great property, I enjoyed it thoroughly"

8.0

Loved my room, location right next to the beach, the food, the massage (was amazing- very strong), the views. I actually enjoyed the stairs for a great workout, but it would not be an accessible place if mobility was an issue. The beach is pretty rocky- easier to access on a high tide. If you aren't an ocean person, used to navigating coral & rocks, you should definitely have reef shoes for safety(but you shouldnt ever step of reefs if you can avoid it). Really amazing snorkeling as far as coral goes and from the few swimming experiences on Samui- it was really pretty and clarity was pretty good (as long as you don't come during salp season, which is rare, I just had bad luck).

The limited hours on breakfast service. I had an 830am tour to go on and breakfast didn't start till 930am. It was also very busy during breakfast and dinners, with many yoga teacher training students- that just made it a bit less relaxing, plus the limited hours on the breakfast & dinner hours made it so everyone came all at once. The yoga also wasn't really my style. It's not the teacher's faults, I've just been practicing a long time and I should just stick to a home practice...so it just wasn't right for me. A very busy, strong practice. My biggest complaint was the "chill" class I attended was by no way a "chill" class...I was not the only one to say this either. I was exhausted from a long day in the sun, sweating, swimming, hiking and just wanted to restore and stretch some, and we did a ton of vinyasas, chaturangas, it was not chill at all. Maybe the last 15 minutes were. Maybe more truthful/honest class descriptions would help.
