The Carpenters Arms

Breakfast was good, albeit without butter for toast until asked (and turned up frozen) but very minor gripe. Not plentiful portions but totally acceptable.

All was good to be honest, it was a great stay for one night very last minute. Signage to clearly show where the entrance to the rooms upstairs is located could be handy for folks who don't like exploring.

Check in very good. Staff were efficient in getting us to our room. Room very small and low ceilings. Very hot the day we stayed and they provided us with a fan. Bathroom had a great shower. Breakfast was superb!

Had a bit of a wait for breakfast as chef was a little late. Would be good if breakfast started at 7.30 to give time to eat, get to work in time for an 8.30am start (at Granta Park)

The ambience and decor were fabulous, the atmosphere warm and friendly. An exceptionally welcoming environment. Recommended by local couple who directed us to this establishment.

Restaurant and kitchen excellent, staff wonderful. Access to rooms a bit quirky, narrow staircase a bit of a challenge with two small dogs but the room was very nice and no additional charge for the dogs……as it should be in a pet friendly hotel. Plenty of space for walking the dogs around the village and beyond.
