"Superb"

The property was modern and beautiful. It has everything you can think of to make your stay easy and comfortable. Villa was super clean, looking exactly as in the pictures (in some cases even better) Alex was a great host also! He was always available to answer any question about services, transfer, local restaurants, activities etc.. Sandy beach is 10minutes away! We would definitely visit it again in the future!! Value for money 👌

"Soul-restoring blue-sky holiday on a wonderful Greek island"

The Blue Sky villa is everything in the photos. And more. Nothing quite captures the magnificent sunsets over the Cretan mountain vista from the balcony. Host Alexandros is very attentive: the pool was regularly cleaned, garden tidied and one minor plumbing problem (plug missing from lovely whirlpool bath) fixed within 24h. Fresh local fruit regularly appeared as a gift. The villa is located only a mile from the best family-run taverna in Crete. It has easy road access for exploring bustling capital Herkalion with its marvellous Venetian walls & castle; visiting ancient sites & museums; relaxing on gorgeous beaches. We even popped into the local cave on our last afternoon - this would have been a mega-tourist venue in the UK, but in Cretan style, with so many archaeological riches, it was just tucked up a mountain track near a goat farm. This has been a post-lockdown soul-restoring holiday with our two teenage sons. Yesterday I popped to the shop across the road and got chatting to a local aircraft engineer, saying how much I’d miss the soul-restoring vistas & vibe of Crete. He replied: “the soul is like a garden: you need to plant lots of beautiful flowers & get rid of the weeds”. This holiday has done just that.

The villa is on a B road, next to a local fuel station, so there is some minor road noise. We found that this was more than covered by the cicadas in the gardens fruit trees.

Location is very good. Close to Heraklion and beaches but away from the crowd.

Not all rooms have air conditioning. The owner was very helpful and brought fans ( August! it was 35 + degrees Celsius )
