The Hotel Ljubljana

The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of the city and near to everything. The breakfast was nicely done, with an à la carte menu and table service, with a good range of options. The staff were friendly and helpful at every opportunity.

I selected a small single room, which is often all I need. I have stayed in numerous hotels which use small spaces to great effect. This is not a good example of how to use the space. A small table (probably not really needed) is fixed to the wall directly at the end of the mattress, shortening the length available, meaning I was often hitting my feet against it. The bathroom had a sink with a tap twice the size appropriate for the sink. The end of the tap hangs over the edge of the sink, meaning it is very difficult to wash hands or shave without bringing water all over the floor. Not a great design. I didn’t find anything in the hotel not clean, but I don’t think the communal areas were well kept and this gave the impression of being less clean than it really was. On more than one occasion there were unpleasant smells in the stair area connecting the different floors.

Well maintained hotel strategically located in the middle of the old Town of Ljubljana. We easily walked to all of the sites and restaurants nearby. The rooms were typical hotel rooms, clean and comfortable. There was an elevator, which many properties do not have. We included breakfast with our room rate, which was in the hotel restaurant. An ample selection of entrees was available, which you ordered from their menu. Service was good. Check in and out was efficient. Also provided complimentary glass of champagne upon check in, which was a nice touch.

This is not a negative. However, one should understand the hotel is in the pedestrian only area of old town. This means that transport services will drop you off at a designated square, which is short 10 minute walk to the hotel. This was not a problem for us, and also transportation like Go Opti is familiar with this area and were available at the square for our pickup and transport.

Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet gut. Man konnte zwei Gerichte aus der Speisekarte wählen und die Auswahl war von sehr guter Qualität. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Unser Zimmer hatte kein Fenster, aber eine Beleuchtung, die das Tageslicht nachstellen sollte. Man fühlte sich isoliert. Wenn man keine Sicht nach draußen hat, ist das irgendwie beängstigend.

Fin beliggenhet, god seng. Rent. God frokost.

Renovasjon av nabobygget med støy fra 06.30 en dag og 07 ellers på ukedager. Dette vekket oss. Rommet var mindre enn annonsert og uten den beskrevne utsikten. Uvennlig mottakelse ved innsjekking. Byggestøyen vil pågå i lang tid framover. Høy pris ut fra det beskrevne.
