Poor breakfast, scrambled eggs only, (I hate scrambled eggs!) wanted poached eggs! Breakfast room PACKED full of scruffy builders in dirty work clothes and that was 6.30am! No gym and for me well overpriced! I wouldn’t stay again!

Ich bin spät abends in Heathrow angekommen und habe das Hotel als Zwischenstopp gewählt, um am nächsten Tag weiter Richtung Cornwall zu fahren. Dazu war es perfekt. Ein ruhiges, sehr schön eingerichtetes Zimmer und ein gutes Frühstück. Gegenüber ein wunderschönes Pub, wo ich abends noch auf einen Drink vorbeischaute. Ich habe gut geschlafen und kann das Hotel weiterempfehlen.

Very convenient location and easy to find. I’d done a little research beforehand, so I knew how to access the car park. The entrance is via a narrow driveway next to the hotel with a fairly tight turn, but once inside the car park is spacious and I had no trouble finding a space. The reception staff were extremely friendly and check-in was quick and straightforward. They also recognised my IHG membership, which was a nice touch. In fact, all the staff we encountered were welcoming, including the breakfast team who were particularly friendly and attentive. Our room was lovely. The air conditioning was excellent and much appreciated during our stay when temperatures were around 30°C outside. (For anyone wondering, the power button is at the top of the temperature control panel.) It kept the room beautifully cool throughout. The only minor issue was that the TV remote control was a little grubby. It’s not usually something I notice, but it could have done with a clean. After a quick wipe it was absolutely fine. Aside from that, the room was spotless and very well appointed. There were tea and coffee making facilities, an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer and a lovely bathroom with a large shower. The Dove hand wash, shampoo and shower gel smelled fantastic. The smart TV was another bonus, allowing you to cast from your device as well as access YouTube and other apps. The blackout curtains worked well and the bed was extremely comfortable, with both soft and firmer pillow options provided. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. I particularly enjoyed the cappuccino from the coffee machine. The only improvement I’d suggest would be the addition of a vegetarian sausage or another hot vegetarian breakfast option, as my husband is vegetarian. We had already booked dinner at Chennai Express just up the road, which I would highly recommend, but the reception team were more than happy to provide local restaurant recommendations. Checkout was incredibly easy, especially being able to complete it online and simply leave the key card in the room if you’re in a hurry. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. We also enjoyed a lovely walk around nearby Fleet Pond, which is well worth a visit. A very enjoyable stay and we’d happily return.
